Making a difference

Kellogg students are driven, creative and supportive. Many make a difference with student-run service clubs. Others launch their own nonprofit organizations, programs, and initiatives. Among the success stories are an initiative to attract highly qualified young people to teach in Chicago’s inner-city schools and an organization that helps Africa’s poorest farmers grow themselves out of poverty.

Kellogg Corps

Kellogg Corps is a volunteer summer service program that places teams of Kellogg students and graduates in developing countries where they use their management skills to support nonprofit agencies. Students founded the program in 1996. Recent graduates have:

• Developed and implemented fundraising strategies for a women’s center in Ghana.
• Improved the operating efficiency of a Costa Rican agricultural cooperative’s processing plant.
• Helped provide education, healthcare and vocational training opportunities to children in Nicaragua.

Kellogg Volunteers

Kellogg Volunteers' mission is to promote volunteerism and community involvement at Kellogg and beyond. The program also encourages students to form new outreach initiatives through its pilot projects.

Kellogg Cares

Every October, 300–500 Kellogg students kick off the school year by doing hands-on volunteer work in Evanston and the Chicago area. Past efforts include running a bone marrow drive, organizing a charity auction ball, and mentoring youth at the Evanston Youth Job Center.
