Arnay and Wilson will receive full tuition for three academic quarters at Kellogg, where they are majors in the media management program. They were chosen after a rigorous application process by a panel of judges from media and academics, including former Kellogg scholars.

"Gabi and Jeremy are terrific choices for the Scholars Program," said Media Management Center executive director Michael P. Smith. "They bring amazing knowledge, inquisitiveness and energy to the media industry. They are very passionate about media, and it is hard not to be infected by that passion." Smith also serves as chair of the media management program at Kellogg.

Arnay is a 2012 MBA candidate at Kellogg, where she is also studying marketing and management and strategy. She has worked in sales for the television network VH1 and Viacom. With the stipend that accompanies the scholarship, she intends to focus on social media and democracy, perhaps including a student-run conference on social media. Arnay is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in communications.

Wilson is a 2012 candidate in the JD-MBA program at Kellogg and Northwestern's School of Law. He has worked as a consultant with Top Five Consulting and Watson Wyatt. He also has worked for the attorney general of Arizona. He intends to focus his inquiry into digital communities and how to enhance engagement. Wilson is a graduate of Stanford University.

Consistent with the guidelines of the scholarship, both winners plan careers in media management.

The Scholars Program was created by the McCormick Foundation in 2005 to cultivate a new generation of leaders in media management. Over the course of the program, the foundation will grant 20 merit scholarships to Kellogg Media Management students and 60 merit scholarships to students in the Medill School over the course of 10 years.
