Carol Bernick is Executive Chairman of Alberto-Culver
Company (NYSE: ACV), a $1.4 billion global manufacturer of consumer products including
Alberto VO5, TRESemme, St. Ives, Nexxus,
Motions, Mrs. Dash and Static Guard, the latter two brands which
she created. Carol became president of Alberto-Culver’s consumer products unit in
1994. In that role, she reenergized the
consumer businesses, dramatically increasing sales growth rates and profit
margins – producing compound sales and profit growth rates of 9% and 22%
respectively during her last five years in this role -- while instituting a
nationally-recognized cultural overhaul of the company profiled in the June,
2001 Harvard Business Review.
Carol was elected chairman in 2004 when the company was
operating both its consumer products unit and Sally Beauty Company -- the world’s
largest distributor of professional beauty products. In 2006 she oversaw the process that separated
the two units, establishing each as a free-standing public companies.
She is a board member of Northwestern Hospital,
the Dean’s Advisory Board for Kellogg
and is a vice chair of the board of Tulane
University. She is the founder of Friends of Prentice a
group of young professionals supporting Chicago’s
Prentice Women’s Hospital. In 2003 she
and her family’s philanthropic efforts were recognized by the Harvard Club of
Chicago. In 2005 she was named National
Working Mother of the Year by the Moms in Business Network. This spring she
received an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Lewis University.
Mrs. Bernick has three children.
Nancy Cooper, Executive Vice President and CFO, CA, Inc.
Nancy E. Cooper, executive vice president and chief financial officer, is responsible for all of CA’s corporate and business unit financial functions worldwide, including the controller role, treasury, tax, investor relations and risk management. Nancy joined CA in August of 2006.
Nancy has nearly 30 years of finance experience, most recently serving as chief financial officer for IMS Health Incorporated, the world’s leading provider of market intelligence to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. There, her responsibilities included finance and accounting, treasury, investor relations, human resources and business development. She was instrumental in integrating IMS’ financial systems and finance teams representing more than 100 countries and closing 30 acquisitions IMS made during her tenure.
Prior to joining IMS Health, Nancy was the chief financial officer of Reciprocal, Inc., a leading digital rights management and consulting firm whose clients included McGraw Hill, Sony, Time Warner and Reuters. In addition, she served as the chief financial officer of Pitney Bowes Credit Corporation, an international credit company.
In 1998, Nancy served as a partner responsible for finance and administration at General Atlantic Partners, a private equity firm focused on software and services investments.
From 1976 to 1998, Nancy held various positions of increasing responsibility at IBM, including CFO of the Global Industries Division, assistant corporate controller, and controller and treasurer of IBM Credit Corporation. Prior to that, she served as director of financial management systems, pricing and financial planning at IBM, responsible for pricing strategy and financial planning management among many IBM divisions worldwide.
Nancy holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

John Alexander, Vice President, New Business & Innovation, North America Region, Whirlpool Corporation
John Alexander was named vice president and general
manager, New Business and Innovation, North America in January 2008. Prior to this assignment, in June 2006, he was
named vice president and general manager, Brand Management which included all

named general manager, National Accounts in early 2001.
A native of Marion, Ohio, Alexander holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical
engineering from Ohio Northern University
and a master of business administration from Ohio State University.
