Leanna Walther
Leanna Walther started in her current role as Divisional Vice President Human Resources, Global Pharmaceuticals R&D, in July 2006. Leanna is responsible for developing and delivering HR strategies, products and services to the business. She and her team work to develop and deliver the human capital initiatives required in talent acquisition, people and organization development, and talent rewards and benefits to support the business in meeting its objectives.
Leanna joined Abbott and its Human Resources Development Program in June 1987. In early 1993, she was named Manager, Employee Relations in the Pharmaceutical Products Division (PPD), and assumed the role of Manager, Compensation, PPD in late 1993. In 1995, she joined the Chemical and Agricultural Products Divisions as Manager, Human Resources. She was promoted to Director, Human Resources in 1997. In 1998, she was named Director, HR MediSense. In January 2004, she returned to Abbott Park as Divisional Vice President, Talent Acquisition (TA) in Corporate Human Resources.
Leanna earned her bachelor's degree in Communication from DePauw University and her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She lives in Lake Forest, Illinois with her husband and two sons.
