Shweta Shyamani is the co-founder and President of Shwamy Creations, a custom invitation design boutique she started in 2002. Despite having no formal training in design, Shwamy Creations quickly became known for its creative flair, attention to detail and commitment to excellence, producing high-quality designs that immediately appealed to a highly discriminating clientele. In October 2004, one of Shwamy’s designs was chosen as a finalist from among hundreds of submissions on “Today Throws a Destination Wedding” on NBC’s Today Show. Their unique creations also have been featured on ABC’s The View, Today Show’s “Last Minute Gifts,” In Style Magazine, Us Weekly, Chicago Social Brides and Ideal Bite. In 2007, they opened their first design studio in Chicago.
Prior to her entrepreneurial venture, Shweta held the position of Senior Director, Internet Marketing for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) where she led a team in the total reengineering of the 10,000+ page corporate website. Other positions she held at CME include Market Analyst, Marketing Manager, and Director of Technology Marketing.
Shweta graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Finance from DePaul University and an MBA in Marketing, Management and Strategy and Organizational Behavior from Kellogg School of Management. She currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Center for Spiritual Living, where she also provides marketing counsel, and is developing a program to champion and develop self-esteem in young girls.
