A 15-year sports industry veteran, Barbara Karasek has held positions with the PGA TOUR, NASCAR and the United States Olympic Committee after cutting her teeth in advertising and public relations.

Serving as the PGA TOUR’s Director of Corporate Marketing since 2007, Karasek manages marketing and activation platforms for corporate partners such as Coca-Cola, Bank of America, Barclays and General Mills.

Previously, Karasek led NASCAR’s Consumer Marketing division, charged to grow the fan base with consumer programs ranging from events in LA and NYC, mobile tours and music concerts.

Tenure with the United States Olympic Committee stemmed from “a temp job that lasted 8 years,” and resulted in living and traveling to 20+ countries. Other high-profile roles in advertising and entertainment are a result of hard work and a capitalizing spirit.

A former college volleyball player, Karasek often lectures about marketing and motivational speaking. Having received a BA in Sociology (Furman University, ’92) and an MA in Mass Communication (University of South Florida, ’95), USF honored her with the Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2008.

Readily admitting “I’ve been blessed with a cool career path,” Karasek and husband, Tony, enjoy many hobbies and are in constant search of adventure.
