Josh Grau

Sales Development Manager
Google Branded Entertainment

Josh Grau teaches the Sports Media and Broadcast Relations elective course in the MSA program. Since developing the course in 2006, he has brought in a number of prominent local and national leaders in sports media, including ESPN EVP Sean Bratches, Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman, and Chicago Blackhawks President John McDonough. He currently works for Google, where he manages sales and business development for Google's Branded Entertainment division, an extension of YouTube. Additionally he oversees the development of sports content platforms for the branded entertainment space and has worked with local content shops Intersport and TeamWorks Media, as well as other major content providers and producers. Previous to Google he spent three years as a marketing director at ESPN, where he developed national integrated sports marketing initiatives for advertising clients across ESPN's multimedia suite, including ESPN TV networks, ESPN.com, ESPN the Magazine, ESPN Radio, and ESPN Mobile. Prior to ESPN he coached women's volleyball in the college ranks, spending two years at perennial power University of Texas (1998-99) and four seasons (2000-03) rebuilding Northwestern from last place in the Big Ten to back-to-back NCAA tournament berths in 2002 and 2003. In addition to coaching, he has worked extensively in college athletics, with stints in media relations, public relations, event marketing, and radio broadcasting. He began his career in sports in 1997 working in operations and event marketing for the Outback Bowl in Tampa, FL. He received a MS in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, an MEd in Sport Administration from the University of Texas, and a BS in Psychology from the University of Florida, where he was a two-time captain of the men's volleyball team.


 

Johan Jervoe

Corporate Vice President of Marketing
McDonald's Corporation

Johan Jervoe is Corporate VP Global Marketing, responsible for McDonald's European Sports Marketing. He is also chairman of the WFA's Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC), chairman of the WFA's Sponsorship Taskforce, and board member of the Chicago Architecture Foundation.

Jervoe has been at McDonald's for the past 12 years doing marketing for Western Europe, Germany, and Central Europe. Before McDonald's, he worked at Kraft Jacobs Suchard as a product and brand manager.

He received an MBA from the Vienna Business University.


 

Jim Lecinski

Managing Director of the Central Region
Google

Jim Lecinski leads the advertising business with Google's major Central Region clients and media agency partners. Heading up Google's Chicago operation, Jim is a seasoned advertising and marketing expert, with nearly 20 years of integrated marketing and online advertising experience. Jim has expertise in brand and creative strategy, marketing plan development, consumer lead generation, marketing analysis, optimization and consumer insights. Additionally, Jim has a strong background in retail and consumer packaged goods. He has held leadership positions at DDB, marchFirst, Young & Rubicam, and EuroRSCG. In addition to his advertising and marketing experience, Lecinski, a vintage jazz music collector, has an MBA from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.


 

Mark Colombo

Senior Vice President of Digital Access Marketing

As Senior Vice President of Digital Access Marketing, Colombo leads teams of strategic thinkers developing approaches to differentiate FedEx from the competition. These teams investigate possibilities using current resources and future marketing and technological opportunities. He is dedicated to six company-wide initiatives: customer loyalty, FedEx.com, Customer Automation, Corporate Strategy, Marketing Research and FedEx Kinko’s Digital Print. Colombo’s thorough research and deep understanding of multi-level operations provide a broad view essential for successful integration of the technology of the future with the present. Prior to joining FedEx, Colombo honed his skills and developed wide experience with positions in Strategy, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain Management and Sales at Akzo Nobel, Harris Chemical Group, KPMG and Computer Sciences Corporation. Colombo is an author and frequent speaker on topics including customer loyalty, electronic commerce, the future of supply chain management and successful implementation of effective customer experience models. Committed to the Memphis community, he serves on the Board of Bridges, Incorporated, an organization dedicated to the city’s youth. He received Bachelor’s degrees in both Economics and Political Science and Master’s Degrees in both Economics and Finance.


 

Jack Philbin (KSM '07)

Jack Philbin spearheads Vibes' business development and overall strategic direction. As the President of the company he has become an influential leader in the wireless industry and is a sought-after speaker at industry events. Jack has been instrumental in building text messaging as a marketing tool and proving its value to a range of clients, from wireless carriers, to agencies, to consumer marketers. An entrepreneur and builder, Jack has specific expertise in business development, strategic client management, and consumer marketing.

Jack is a graduate of Boston College and received his MBA at Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management. He is extremely active in the mobile marketing industry and currently sits on the CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus, the Off-Portal Content Committee and the Mobile Marketing Association. Jack regularly addresses industry experts on panels for the CTIA, MMA, and iHollywood Forums and was honored with the MMA’s “Outstanding Individual Achievement” award. Under Jack’s leadership, Vibes was ranked #92 on the 2007 Inc. 500 list of fastest growing US companies and was awarded to two CTIA Technology Marketing Awards and a Chicago Innovation Award for its iRadio Platform.
