James Reynolds, Jr. is founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Chicago-based Loop Capital Markets, LLC, an investment banking and brokerage firm. The native Chicagoan is responsible for all investment banking, trading and institutional sales activity at the firm. Loop Capital Markets has more than 100 sales, trading and investment banking professional in its offices located in Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, Detroit, Houston, Oakland and Los Angeles.

James Reynolds, Jr. is responsible for all investment banking, trading and institutional sales activity at the firm.

Mr. Reynolds has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. Early in his career, Mr. Reynolds served as Assistant Vice President at Smith Barney in municipal sales where he sold tax-exempt securities to a broad base of institutional investors. Mr. Reynolds also lead sales in the Corporate and Institutional Client Group at Merrill Lynch where he managed the municipal sales team responsible for the distribution of all tax-exempt products to institutions in the Midwest. In addition, Mr. Reynolds established and headed the Midwest Municipal Bond Sales desk at PaineWebber in Chicago. In 1997, Mr. Reynolds collaborated with Albert Grace to form Loop Capital Markets, LLC.

At Loop Capital Markets, Mr. Reynolds’ influence has established an informal motto among the team of over 80 professionals: to provide client service beyond the expectation. Personally, Mr. Reynolds goes further, he believes that one must work hard, help others, and it will all come back. To this end, Mr. Reynolds zealously participates as a board member of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois, Chicago State University, University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago Historical Society and Chicago Summer Business Institute. Additionally, Mr. Reynolds is Treasurer for the Chicago Urban League and he currently serves as Past-President of The Alliance of Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE), an influential organization of African-American business leaders in Chicago.

Mr. Reynolds holds a Masters of Management in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.
