The Kellogg Real Estate Club (KREC) is a professional club at the Kellogg School of Management that supports students pursuing a career in real estate. KREC helps facilitate the following opportunities for its members:

  • To learn about real estate and the various opportunities within the industry
  • To foster relationships between students, alumni and other professionals within the real estate community
  • To network with various real estate firms throughout the world

Mission

The mission of the Kellogg Real Estate Club is to serve full-time Kellogg students who are interested in learning more about the real estate industry or are pursuing a career in the field. KREC reaches out to the wider community of part-time students, industry professionals, faculty, and alumni to help strengthen the educational and career opportunities for Kellogg students.

Kellogg Real Estate Conference

Each year the Kellogg Real Estate Conference marks the first opportunity of the school year for students and professionals from around the country to learn about current trends within the industry, hear the perspectives of speakers and panels, and take part in a valuable networking forum.

UT Austin National Real Estate Challenge

The UT Austin National Real Estate Challenge – The challenge includes teams from 16 of the leading MBA and graduate schools from around the country. Each team is given 48 hours to analyze the case, come up with a comprehensive solution, and then travel to Austin to give a 20-minute case presentation to a judging panel consisting of practicing real estate professionals. Typical case problems focus on all aspects of a real estate investment, including issues surrounding acquisition, financing, development, strategy, zoning, and tenanting.

UNC Real Estate Development Challenge

UNC Real Estate Development Challenge – The challenge includes teams from the top MBA programs who are given a proposed development and then create a development plan, execution strategy, and financing structure while identifying the project risks and rewards.
