Taste of Africa
The Taste of Africa was created by Isi Okogun in 2001 with the help of KABA members Maria Steyn, Tope Folayan, Michael Antwi, Grant and Katie Jackson, Serge Tedjong, Tony and Nana Hagan. The 1st Taste of Africa was held in May 2001; over 300 Kellogg students participated. It brought Africa to the consciousness of the Kellogg community and renewed interest in GIM Africa trips. Since its launch in 2001, the Taste of Africa remains KABA's most successful and most widely anticipated annual event.
Every year, KABA hosts an annual school-wide Taste of Africa event, a great opportunity for all Kellogg students to learn about KABA and be exposed to the business and cultural aspects of Africa. This huge event produced by KABA students features African dancers, music, food, vendors, African fashion and information about key African social causes and business opportunities. The event is sponsored by target organizations from the public and private sectors who have an interest in Africa and/or companies that market African products and services in the U.S and Africa.
