How do I become a member?
Fill out the Online Membership Form.

How will I benefit from my JV membership?
Joining JV will provide you with invaluable support as well as organized social opportunities to meet other Kellogg partners. For 1Y partners, JV activities are scheduled throughout the summer. For 2Y partners, we kick off the school year with our very own CIM week tailored to suit the needs (and schedules!) of our partner population. Our various committees serve the diverse needs of JV members, with specific committees for Career Networking, Kellogg families and International students. Our Social/Cultural Committee plans fun events to familiarize all of our members with popular Chicago hot spots. Additionally, our Philanthropy Committee plans enriching opportunities to give back to the community and provides helpful links to volunteer resources. Joint Ventures also works to make your transition to Kellogg as smooth as possible.

I am moving to Evanston this summer--how can I get involved?
We will be planning lots of fun events during the summer months and we look forward to meeting you when you arrive in Evanston! Check out our Calendar to find the latest Joint Venture events. Also consider joining or starting an Interest Group by signing up for our Joint Ventures Google Group. We encourage you to join right away so you can get involved, meet new people and help plan fun events!

Because e-mail is the only method of regular communication with JV members, please make sure to give us an e-mail address that won't be changing (i.e. gmail, hotmail, yahoo or aol rather than a work e-mail address). That way we can stay in contact with you and ensure that you don't miss out on any activities.

What child care facilities and schools are available in the Evanston area?
There are lots of options in the Evanston area. Please see our Family Resources page for more details.

I just moved - how do I update my contact information?
Submit any changes to your mailing, e-mail address or phone number to the JV Membership Co-Chair. The appropriate committees will be notified.

Can I attend any event? What about my student?
All JV members are invited to attend any and all events that interest you. However, some events may have limited space. So be sure to check with the specific contact person for each event for details and availability. Also, certain events will highlight an invitation for your student to attend as well. We strive to achieve a balanced offering of events - some that are designed just for partners, and others that include the student as well.

How do I find out about events?
There are two main ways to find out about upcoming JV Events: via e-mail communications and by checking our JV website. We send out periodic e-mails announcing upcoming events, along with the link to our website. E-mail is the primary way we communicate with our members, so please make sure our Membership Co-Chair always has your current information. You can always find the latest events, along with details and RSVP information, in the Calendar section of our site.

How can I get more involved in JV?
There are several ways that you can get more involved with JV besides participating on the Executive Committee. Our committee leaders are always looking for more JV members to get involved on their committees. You could help plan a social event, answer questions for prospective students at DAK, research helpful resources for the Kellogg Pro Forma, or take pictures of JV'ers in action. Just let the appropriate committee leaders know how you'd like to get involved.

I know of a community event that I think JV members would be interested in, how do I let them know?
The JV listservs are used for activities/announcements from the JV committees, or information that Kellogg has asked us to pass on. The JV Google group is the place where JV members can share information about community activites, etc.

How does JV communicate with members?
As you probably have figured out by now, email is the primary method we use to communicate with our members. So, please make sure to give us an email address that you check frequently.

What do I do if I'm not getting JV emails?
Please notify the Communications Co-Chair to confirm your email address. Our listserv does not receive "bounce-backs" so the only way we know that you're not receiving emails is if you tell us!

How do I update my contact information?
Submit any changes to your mailing, email address or phone number to the Membership Co-Chair. The appropriate committees, including our listserv, will be notified.

Who can send messages directly to JV listservs?
Only members of the Executive Committee are authorized to send messages directly to the JV listserv.

What if I have follow-up questions regarding an email or evite?
Contact the person designated in the email as the contact person. In many cases, this is not the person who sent the email! We often pass along information from Kellogg clubs and outside organizations. Please read the email carefully to ascertain the contact person before hitting "reply." For JV activities, you can find out how to contact the coordinator for a given event in either the email announcing the event, or on the Calendadr.

How should I contact members of the Executive committee?
The best way to reach us is via email. Our contact information is listed on the website, on the Contact Us page. Try to address your question with the appropriate individual. For example, if you have a question about an upcoming social event, email the individual who planned it (not the entire social committee). If you're not sure whom to contact, send an email to KelloggJV@gmail.com.

How do I join Kellogg clubs?
Currently, the only way to join Kellogg clubs is to have your student join the club, and forward the emails to you. To get your student on a club listserv, use his/her login and password to access Kellogg's internal site. Click on the "Club and Group Directory" located under "Student Organizations" on the Kellogg Serial to learn about clubs. Also under "Student Organizations" you will find a link to "Listservs". Click on "Listservs" to learn how to be added to individual club listservs. Remind your student to forward you the emails!

Do not email the club listservs. Your message will be sent to everyone on the listserv distribution list. Similarly, if you receive an email from a Kellogg club, do not hit "reply all" unless you're sure everyone on that listserv should get your message. If you have an individual question, please email the club co-chairs directly.

Employees of Kellogg can add themselves to club listservs. Joint Ventures forwards emails from clubs that are popular among partners (i.e. Cork and Screw, Gourmet and Gourmands, etc). You are welcome to attend club events, even if you are not an "official" member of the club. If there is a club that you would like us to join (for the purpose of forwarding the messages on to JV members), please contact one of the JV Co-Chairs.

Kellogg partners are welcome to join any of the Kellogg clubs, whether recreational (e.g., the Ski club) or professional (e.g., the Marketing club or Business Leadership club).

How do I access the Kellogg calendar?
Click "Kellogg Serial" on the left side of the JV home page. Once you are in the Kellogg Serial, you will find "Upcoming Events" on the top, right side of the page. Click on "View full calendar" to see upcoming events. If you have trouble, try logging in using your student's login and password.
