What is a "Hash"?

The Hash House Harriers is a worldwide organization whose beginnings are roundly debated.  Most accounts point to Kuala Lumpur in the vicinity of the 1930's.  Other accounts include its origins with Benjamin Franklin, Singapore ex-pats, and various other legends.  In any event, the Hash is world renowned as a club for "drinkers with a running problem", and consists of regular runs from pub to pub along trails marked by the "hares".

The concept of a Kellogg Hash is a bit of a twist on the worldwide standard:  we stumble about campus, on an approximately weekly basis, dressing up to the appropriate theme.  We follow the standard hash trail markers, and stop periodically for refreshments and/or entertainment.  The stumble ends up at a favorite bar or, more commonly, at the Friday TG, where Hash Transgressions are awarded and the transgressors "punished".
