The Kellogg Habitat for Humanity Club is proud to announce the kick-off of the annual Hammer Away Homelessness fund-raising campaign. The Hammer Away Homelessness campaign aims to help Kellogg students work in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Lake County to end poverty housing in the local community. Each year hundreds of Kellogg student volunteers donate their time and talent to build affordable housing for families in need, while empowering the families to help themselves.
For the 2007-2008 school year, the Kellogg Habitat for Humanity Club has pledged $10,000 to helping local families in need and has sponsored eight student builds. While the financial donation and donated student time helps many local families, the experience working with Habitat for Humanity benefits the Kellogg student body in a number of ways. First, the experience provides an opportunity for Kellogg students to get hands-on team building experience outside of the classroom. Second, the experience invites students of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses in partnership with families in need. Finally, the experience enhances the entire Kellogg experience – teaching students to be leaders in society as well as business.
So how can you help? We are asking students, faculty, friends, and family to make a small donation towards our fund-raising goal of $10,000. Unlike many professional clubs, the Kellogg Habitat for Humanity club must raise funds through a number of events excluding solicitation from corporate sponsors or alumni. Therefore, we would appreciate if you would consider making a donation to help local families in need and allow the Kellogg Habitat for Humanity club to continue to enhance the student experience.
To donate, please click the “Make a Donation” button below. All donations are deposited directly to Habitat for Humanity Lake County's account using PayPal's secure technology. For more information regarding PayPal, please click here. All major credit cards are accepted.
Thanks for your consideration,
