GIM EU

Global Initiatives in Management

“European Union”

A cornerstone of Kellogg's international curriculum is the Global Initiatives in Management (GIM) program. GIM began in 1990 when a group of students organized a course and a two-week trip to what was then the Soviet Union. Since then, the program has expanded greatly. Today, nearly 400 students - about two-thirds of each Kellogg class - participate annually in the program. (For  more details on the program, http://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/academic/international/gim/index.htm)

In 2004, the GIM “European Union” class was composed of 20 students and was coordinated by a student Leadership team of 7 Leaders, under the supervision of the 2 Faculty advisors: Dean Emeritus Jacobs and Fran Langewisch, Dean of Student Affairs.

The different course topics studied during the 2004 GIM EU Class were:

·         The European Union:  Past, present and future

·         Integrating New Countries into the European Union

·         The European Union Labor Market – Challenges and Opportunities

·         The Impact of Implementing a Common Currency and Tax Code across National Borders

·         European Union Diplomacy

·         Law and Order: European Union Regulations and Legislation

·         Marketing in the European Union

·         Business Structures in the European Union

The European Business Club is proud to be associated with the GIM EU program. The EBC proactively enhances the development of relationships with the GIM EU class for the benefit of its members.
