Marie Kim

Marie is a student representative on the Admissions Committee and was also the PR/Alumni Leader for GIM India 2007. Marie is a second year MBA student interested in majoring in International Business, Management & Strategy, and Finance. Marie graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration. Prior to attending Kellogg, Marie worked as an analyst in the Private Wealth Management Division of Morgan Stanley in San Francisco. Marie was born in California and split her childhood between Seoul, South Korea and Santa Rosa, California. She enjoys running, volleyball, watching baseball, and exploring ethnic foods.

Gen Imamura

Career/Academic

Gen is interested in Marketing and MORS, and is working on a top secret project called Kuzen-Zetsugo (KZ) with partner in crime D. Wride that has all the elements of a great movie ? shady Russian businesses, fashion retail and Muscovite models. The GIM Russia trip will hopefully be the beginning of the implementation of KZ. He has been told numerous times to take B-school more seriously but prefers the ridiculous to the rational. Gen has lived in Japan and the U.S. Enjoys sun&scuba, golf, tennis, heated ping pong battles with Ed Zhang (Gen has never lost to Ed, though Ed is the self-proclaimed Roger Federer of ping pong), and eating spicy Indian food cooked by R. Chimni.

Rajdeep Chimni

Career/Academic

Prior to business school Rajdeep was involved in launching a hospitality business and then worked in the semiconductor industry. He currently holds an undergraduate degree in business and a masters in technology and intends to major in Strategy, Analytical consulting and Finance. Born and raised in India, he has lived in Nigeria and England and has worked in France and Italy. He enjoys sports- cricket, tennis, golf, chess, writing short stories and cooking and eating spicy Indian food.

David Zarraga

A native of the Philippines, David graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1998 with a degree in Management. Prior to his arrival at Kellogg, David was head of operations for Starfish Mobile Technologies, a mobile content provider based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Aside from his mobile experience, David also spent two years in residential real estate sales & development and two years as a high school teacher of English Literature, Economics & Classical Latin. David is a basketball junkie, a self-confessed foodie and a lifelong fan of the powder-fine sands of Boracay Island in the Philippines.

Born in Bangkok, Thailand, PK moved to the U.S. to attend high school in Newport, Rhode Island. During her senior year, she initiated and organized the schoolfs first-ever cultural fashion show for the International Students Club. She then moved to California to attend Claremont McKenna College where she majored in Economics.? She was elected class representative and President of the Asian Student Association. During her tenure, she focused on uniting students through various social & cultural activities and establishing strong ties between students and several Asian associations in Southern California. Prior to Kellogg, PK worked as Communications Director for an integrated marketing communications agency where she crafted unique brand-based solutions and devised integrated marketing materials for clients. ?At Kellogg, she is pursuing Marketing, Media Management and Management & Strategy majors. In her free time, she enjoys painting and water sports such as wake-boarding and surfing.

Yoon Huh

Yoon is a first year MBA student interested in majoring in Finance and Management & Strategy. Yoon graduated from Korea University in 2000 with a degree in Mass Communications. Prior to attending Kellogg, Yoon worked as an accountant / consultant at KPMG Seoul office. Yoon was born in Germany and spent his childhood in Japan, Canada, the US and Korea. He enjoys traveling, swimming and playing golf.

Xiaolei 'Ed' Zhang

Ed was the manager of the biotech panel for the 2007 Kellogg Biotech Conference and co-organizer of 2007 Kellogg Genzyme Case Competition. Ed intends to major in Biotechnology, Marketing and International business. Prior Kellogg, Ed had work in Pfizer and Abbott together for five years as research scientist. Ed hold BS and MS degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University in China and Sate University of New York respectively. A native of China, Ed has been in the States for seven years. Ed enjoys sports, movies, and most importantly quality time with family and friends.

 

During our term as AMA Co-chairs, we have set the following goals to enrich the AMA experience:

    • Goal for 2008 - Promote AMA awareness to the great Kellogg student body through more accessible events.
    • Asian Movie Night
    • AMA Party
    • Cooking Classes for different Asian cuisines
    • More frequent and accessible social events
    • Asian Poker Night
    • Culturalgsharingh Events
    • Cultural Fashion Show during the annual Asian Food Festival/TG

    Admissions and Career/Academic Committees

    • Goal - Help people who are interested in getting placed in Asia or interested in working in Asia
    • Establish a gKellogg 101h Induction Program where interested students become accustomed to the American classroom and social environment.
    • Continue mock interviews, academic mentorship program
    • Establish tutoring program with 2nd years

    PR, Tech and Alumni Committee

    • Make AMA website more informative and interactive
      • Add blog to facilitate communication between members and external parties
      • Include video clips of new events and gday-in-a-lifeh of AMA members from various backgrounds
    • Proactively recruit new members through discussion board for new admits, CIM week, and DAK II
    • Partner with the Asia America MultiTechnology Association and other professional Asian networking associations for enhanced networking
