The Family Institute

Norris University Center

This is NU's Student Union. A variety of services, including the university bookstore, the WildCard Office and Starbucks can be found here. Non-credit classes and outdoor equipment rentals are also offered in Norris.

Northwestern's Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics

As provided by the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, now known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, you are entitled to request and receive a copy of Northwestern University's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Northwestern University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from campus. The Report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies on drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, fire safety and other matters. You can obtain a copy of this report by contacting the Northwestern University Police Department Deputy Chief at (847) 491-3256. The report can also be accessed and printed from the University Police website.

Reserving Spaces on Campus

  • To reserve an outdoor location on campus, please submit an Outdoor Event Request form. For questions, please contact Fran Langewisch in the Student Affairs Office. This must be done at least 2 weeks prior to your event.
  • To request space at the Allen Center, please contact Carole Rose at (847) 467-7016 or Christine Breakey at (847) 467-4283.
  • To request space at Wieboldt Hall on the Chicago Campus, please contact Margaret Williams at (312) 503-0410.
  • To reserve the McManus Lounge, please contact a McManus Student Director through the McManus web page.

Safe Rides

Sports and Aquatic Center (SPAC)

Access to the Henry Crown Sports and Aquatic Center is free to students with their WildCards/Student IDs. Spouses of students may purchase a membership at a discounted rate. Information on other athletic and recreation centers on campus and intermural sports can be found on the Department of Athletics and Recreation website.

WildCard Office

Your WildCard is your Student ID and can also be used for purchases on campus. You may replace a lost Wildcard at Norris Center for $15. (Remember to check the Lost & Found in Student Affairs for lost items before replacing them.)
