The financial aid application process

Both merit and financial need-based scholarships are awarded at the time of admission. Financial aid materials submitted will be considered for student loan eligibility. To apply, please follow the instructions below. US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to borrow funds from the Federal Direct Loan Program. Private education loan programs are available for all students, including international citizens.  For more information on the different loan options available to students, please review the Loan Types section of this website.

U.S. citizen and permanent resident instructions

  1. Please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid: https://studentaid.gov (Note: When completing your FAFSA, please use school code 001739 for Northwestern University).
  2. Complete and submit the Kellogg Application for Financial Aid. This form will appear on your applicant portal after your application round deadline.
  3. Additional instructions will be available once you begin the form.

International citizen instructions
