Conference
on Biotechnology: Scientific, Commercial and Societal Risks

The “Biotechnology:
Scientific, Commercial and Societal Risks” conference
will address all dimensions of risk and uncertainty in biotechnology
– from the endogenous risk of scientific innovation,
commercial development and public safety; to the exogenous,
highly volatile and little understood, market and public perception
risks.
The conference
brings together world scholars and leaders from the field
of innovation, life science, management and government, to
discuss and integrate ideas across the many disciplines. The
topics are relevant to a wide array of fields including the
sciences, economics, politics, and management.
On Friday,
February 25, there will be a keynote evening speaker and on
Saturday, February 26, there will be three panels moderated
by a leading scholar in each field:
The
Nature of Innovation Risk
Commercial Risk
Social Risk – Biodefense
The outcome
of this scholarly conference will be an anthology of presentations
and publications entitled, “Managing Biotech Risk”.
