Selling Your Impact

Are you making a difference?  How do you measure your impact on the community?  How can you evaluate your progress toward your mission?  How can you improve on all of these?  In today’s competitive environment, organizations are competing for funding on different terms:  it’s not who you know anymore…it’s what you can deliver.  As a result, nonprofits are striving to demonstrate the impact they are having on the community.  This program will teach nonprofit leaders and board members why measuring performance is important, how to measure results in any type of organization and how measurement can be linked to more money.

Successful Fundraising Strategies
February 7-8, 2012

Raising funds has never been an easy task for nonprofit leaders.  However, the current fundraising environment is more challenging than it has ever been before and nonprofits are asking:  How do we keep our asks fresh and exciting to engage donors?  Where are we going to find new donors?  How can we better use the information we have on our donors to increase their giving?  Which of the technology tools make sense for our organization and our donors?  This new program will address these important questions and provide opportunities for dialog with seasoned nonprofit practitioners and the Kellogg School faculty.  It will help nonprofit leaders better understand the current trends and learn tactics that they can employ to reinvigorate their fundraising efforts. The following concepts will be explored: trends in giving, moving from anecdotal to data-driven fundraising decisions, prospect research, and major gift strategies.

Winning Strategies
November 7-8, 2012
8:30am-5:00pm – November 7; 8:30am-5:00pm – November 8

Strategy and sustainability are today’s key buzzwords.  They embrace ideas and concepts about how to be more competitive and to enhance your long-term impact.  Some important questions to ask about your organization are:  Do your activities match your mission?  What distinguishes your organization from others in the field?  What is the competitive advantage you enjoy that can be maintained over time?  This new two-day program will focus on three separate components of a nonprofit’s organizational success:  mission, finance and strategy.
