Customized Learning

for your leaders and for your challenges

Nonprofit Custom Programs

Learning solutions designed specifically for your organization

Nonprofits face unique business challenges that determine their organizations' health. Since 2001, The Center for Nonprofit Management has partnered with nonprofits to develop solutions and help executives solve tomorrow's business and leadership challenges today. Whether you're facing fundraising challenges, seeking to broaden your impact, or interested in strengthening your team's leadership skills, we can help.

"Custom programs provide a setting for leaders to learn from senior academic faculty and outstanding practitioners in an environment that fosters leadership and innovation."

Liz Livingston Howard, Executive Director, Center for Nonprofit Management

Our Program Design Approach

The Center is uniquely equipped with nonprofit sector experts and Kellogg faculty who write the books on cutting-edge business practices. Together, we assess your learning needs and your employees' learning capacities. We then design a preliminary academic plan, evaluate and refine that plan by engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and deliver an outstanding educational experience that builds on your organization's unique strengths and addresses your most pressing challenges. Often our programs are designed to help:

  • Build individual leadership and management skills
  • Enhance team leadership capacity
  • Develop stronger organizations

Our Partnership Philosophy

We create custom programs and experiences based on the learning needs articulated by our client organizations. Custom programs are highly tailored and can range from day-long intensives, to multi-year cohort experiences offered in-person, live virtual or a hybrid of various learning modes.

Impact Measurement

We believe that meaningful impact measurement is a partnership and occurs at four levels:

Impact measurement reaction icon

Reaction / Did participants find the program favorable, engaging and relevant?

Impact measurement learning icon

Learning / Did participants acquire the intended knowledge and skills?

Impact measurement behavior change icon

Behavior change / Are participants applying the learning on the job?

Impact measurement organization results icon

Organization results / What are the measurable human capital or organizational results?

During your program, we assess participant reaction through individual session evaluations. We also partner with you to define program learning objectives and assess achievement of that learning with our overall program evaluation. Behavior change and organizational results are assessed post-program by our client organizations, and the approaches used vary widely. We can work with our clients to inform their desired approach to this level of impact measurement.
