Guidelines for Submitting New Manuscripts

1. New and revised manuscripts should be submitted through ScholarOne at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jems

2. Manuscripts can be in the following formats: pdf, WORD, WordPerfect, TEX and Scientific Word. It is necessary to double space, use 12 point font, and follow the JEMS style guide.

3. The submission fee is $50.00 for nonsubscribers. The fee is waived for authors if they have a subscription to JEMS or their institution's library has a subscription to JEMS. JEMS accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Jems also accepts checks. Checks should be made out to Northwestern University and sent to:

4. Upon receipt, the editor will send the manuscript to a coeditor. The coeditor generally will provide two referee reports and a coeditor's report. These will be sent to the author submitting the paper along with a cover letter from the editor conveying the decision whether or not to publish the paper. Referees and coeditors will remain anonymous. Questions regarding editorial policy should be addressed to the editor or to the editorial assistant.
