Global
Health Initiative
The Global Health
Initiative is an exciting new area of research promulgated
by a group of Kellogg School MBA students in 2005. Enlisting
the expertise of Professors Daniel
Diermeier at the Kellogg School and David
Kelso at the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied
Sciences, these students have collaborated with biomedical
engineering students and Abbott Laboratories in an effort
to devise a way to deliver AIDS medication and detection devices
economically to African nations and other impoverished countries.
This important project serves as an example of the Ford Center
mission of encouraging interdisciplinary partnerships, without
which, this project would not be possible.
