Additionally, attendance is required for each class session so that all students benefit from the negotiation exercises.  You may miss one negotiation exercise without penalty, but only if you provide advance notice to the instructor.  If you do not notify the instructor in advance of a missed negotiation exercise, you will lose a full letter grade on your overall course grade.  If you miss a second exercise, you will lose a full letter grade on your overall course grade regardless of whether you notify the instructor in advance.  In short, you may only miss class once all quarter.
