Blackstone’s portfolio includes hotel, office, retail, industrial and residential properties in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Prof. Martin Eichenbaum is the Ethel and John Lindgren Professor of Economics in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University and the co-director of the Center for International Economics and Development. Some of his prior engagements are Visiting Professor- Chicago Booth School of Business, Assistant Professor of Economics- Graduate School of Industrial Administration, Carnegie Mellon University, Associate Professor of Economics- Graduate School of Industrial Administration- Carnegie Mellon University, Visiting Associate Professor of Economics- Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago,Visiting Professor of Economics- Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bailey is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Association of Industrial & Office Properties (NAIOP), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Scott L. Goodman
Founding Principal, Sterling Bay Companies
Scott Goodman currently serves as the Founding Principal of Sterling Bay Companies, a commercial real estate development firm he established in 1986. Today, Sterling Bay is a 60-person firm focusing on a wide range of commercial developments, including the adaptive reuse of downtown loft office buildings and ground-up medical office and retail construction. In the past five years, Sterling Bay has successfully developed over two million square feet of property valued over $300 million. Scott focuses on investor relations, procurement of financing and equity, and transaction structuring. Scott earned a BS in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management. Scott serves as the Chairman of the Board of both the PKD Foundation and Heartland Alliance.
Steven Koch is the Deputy Mayor of Chicago, since September 4, 2012. His responsibilities include oversight of the Mayor’s Economic Council, focuses on job creation and retention, budget issues, municipal finance and revenue, and economic development. Prior, Koch spent 27 years at Credit Suisse. During his tenure at CS, he both ran and was the Chairman of the global Mergers and Acquisitions business. In his distinguished career, Steve has advised on landmark transactions across a broad range of industries that together comprise more than $1 trillion worth of transactions. Koch received his B.A. from Hampshire College, his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Chicago Law School.

As the founder, Mr. McCaffery has overall responsibility for the executive management, strategic direction and leadership of McCaffery Interests, Inc., which he founded in 1991. His other responsibilities include new business creation and enhancement, and expansion of tenant and financial partner relationships. Mr. McCaffery has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry and has led the development of more than $3 billion of mixed-use urban projects. Mr. McCaffery is a frequent speaker at meetings and conventions of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a member of the ICSC International Awards jury. Adrian Smith has been a practicing architect for over 45 years. His extraordinary body of work includes some of the world’s most recognizable landmark structures, including the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai; Rowes Wharf in Boston and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Prior to founding Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture in 2006, Adrian was a Design Partner in the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill from 1980 to 2003 and a Consulting Design Partner from 2004 to 2006. Projects under his design direction have won over 100 major awards for design excellence, including 10 international awards, 9 National AIA awards, 22 Chicago AIA awards, and 2 ULI Awards for Excellence.

President, Eastdil Secured
D. Michael Van Konynenburg is President of the real estate investment banking firm Eastdil Secured. At Eastdil Secured he is responsible for overseeing numerous large, real estate transactions involving financings, capital raising, and investment banking transactions. As former President and Chief Executive Officer of Secured Capital Corp, a real estate investment banking firm that he co-founded in 1990, he oversaw transactions totaling over $80 billion. Prior to his association with Secured Capital, Mr. Van Konynenburg was a Senior Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert’s Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Department. He graduated from the University of California at Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics and is a founding board member of the Ziman Center for Real Estate at UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Jonathan Pollack is a Managing Director and Global Head of Commercial Real Estate, as well as Head of Risk for Structured Finance. He is a member of the CB&S North America Executive Committee. The Commercial Real Estate business is responsible for lending for CMBS, syndication and the balance sheet, as well as CRE Special Situations, which is focused on distressed real estate debt. The CMBS business finished #1 in the US and Global Bookrunning League Tables in 2011, 2012 and leads the Global League Table in 2013. Jonathan was previously head of CRE Capital Markets in London, where he co-founded the European CRE business in 2001. Jonathan joined Deutsche Bank in 1999 from Nomura. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Northwestern University.

Both businesses are now wholly-owned affiliates of The Blackstone Group. Before PHREG, Mr. Purse was a Managing Director of the Real Estate Private Fund Group ("REPFG") at Credit Suisse First Boston, Managing Director - Marketing and Portfolio Management and minority owner of DRA Advisors, Inc. and the Senior Vice President - Marketing for The Yarmouth Group.

Wendy Silverstein is Executive Vice President and Co-Head of Acquisitions and Capital Markets for Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO), one of the largest owners and managers of commercial real estate in the United States. As head of Capital Markets since 1998, Ms. Silverstein covers a diverse range of capital market activities including all equity, debt, and derivative transactions of Vornado. As Co-Head of Acquisitions, she is responsible for a variety of corporate acquisitions. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Toys R Us, Inc.
