Business Analytics Prep Course
Kellogg is pleased to offer Business Analytics Prep, a required online course that serves as preparation for the Business Analytics I (DECS-430 A or B) core course. The online course covers descriptive data analysis, sampling, probability theory, independence and conditional probability, random variables and statistical inference.
NOTE: If you are in the Accelerated Option and you are not required to take DECS 430 as a missing core, then you are NOT required to complete this online course. However, you will have access to it throughout the duration of your time here if you would like to benefit from this online course.
Completion of the Business Analytics Prep online course is required for part of your Business Analytics I (DECS-430) course grade; however, the actual score received in the online course does not influence your grade. In other words, full credit for the online course is earned simply by completing it.
A student has completed the online course when he or she submits answers to every "Checkpoint" question in the online course. In addition to mandatory Checkpoint questions, the course also includes interactive exercises (labeled "Learn by Doing," "Did I get this") that allow students to check progress.
Students should plan to allocate at 15 - 20 hours to complete the course and submit an answer for every Checkpoint question. Actual time will vary based on previous background and familiarity with course content.
Once students enter the course, they may stop and start, save progress and return to the course work any time before the course due date.
The due date to complete the online course is prior to the first day of class.
