Kellogg students take their education seriously, and they know how to make learning engaging. At Kellogg orientation, you’ll get a whole lot more than a branded water bottle and a campus map.
During the three-week “Pre-Term” program, your days will be filled with intensive study, creative and challenging team-building exercises, and nonstop camaraderie. This introduction to Kellogg has three key components for Two-Year (2Y) and MMM students:
- Complete Immersion in Management (CIM) for new students
- Technology Education@Kellogg (TEKcamp) to connect you with the latest tools in the Kellogg networked environment
- The highly engaging required core course, Leadership in Organizations
CIM features interactive workshops on diversity, leadership and global issues. Students enjoy a whirlwind of social events and complete community service projects.
Leadership in Organizations is an accelerated, full-credit course that consists of 10 three-hour class sessions and a final examination. The course explores issues relating to leadership, teamwork, ethics and competitive advantage in groups.
Students in the One-Year (1Y) MBA Program, who start in June and complete their degree in June one year later, enjoy a CIM experience in their first week on campus that, like their curriculum, is a condensed version of the 2Y Program’s. One-Year students also get a thorough grounding in Kellogg technology right away with TEKcamp. Then, during summer term, 1Y students complete Values and Crisis Decision-Making, the required course that 2Y students will take in Pre-Term when they return for their second year following summer internships. When the 2Y cohort returns in the fall, 1Y students join that class and complete the program with their second-year peers.
Pre-Term is a mandatory program for all students.
