FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
How do I schedule an interview?
A limited number of priority interview slots have been reserved for Kellogg Diversity Weekend for participants on Friday, November 9th and Saturday morning, November 10th. These spots are available on a first-come first-served basis. Once you have registered and completed Part 1 of the Kellogg application, you may contact the admissions office at 847-491-3308 to schedule an interview. Please identify yourself as a Kellogg Diversity Weekend participant. The attire for interviews is business and you must bring a copy of your resume for the interviewer.
You are not required to complete your interview during this event. You may interview at some other time either on-campus or off-campus with an alumni. Please visit the admissions website for further information on the interview process.
Do I have to complete a long application including essays in order to attend the Kellogg Diversity Weekend?
No, there is only an online registration form in order to enroll for this event. The information collected will help us plan for the event and is not used for evaluation purposes. It will not affect your application.
I cannot attend the events on Friday. May I still participate in the Diversity Weekend activities?
To get the most out of this event, you should participate in the entire schedule of activities on Friday and Saturday. Please do not register for this event if you are unable to attend the full schedule of activities.
I plan to submit my Kellogg School application during the first round. Should I attend this event?
Many participants last year also submitted their application during the first round and they felt that the event was useful. The main reason was if they there were admitted to the school, the preview event experience helped them make an informed decision.
Should I attend this event if I do not plan to apply to Kellogg this year?
Yes. We know that it may take time to decide if an MBA is right for you. We also know that gathering information is critical when you are trying to decide to which school you will apply. This event can provide much of the information that you need about the Kellogg School and the programs that we offer.
Does the Kellogg School cover the cost of transportation and lodging for participants?
No, we do not cover the cost of transportation and lodging for this event. However, we have reserved a block of rooms at an area hotel to ensure room availability and to help keep the cost down. Hotel information is included above. The Kellogg School does cover the cost of meals during the weekend.
What is the attire for the weekend activities?
The attire for this event is business casual. However, if you have scheduled an interview please dress in business attire.
Can I bring a significant other to this event?
Unfortunately, space is very limited so this event is only for potential applicants to the Kellogg School. There are many events throughout the year at Kellogg at which spouses and significant others are welcome such as conferences and just about any other time you come to visit the school.
How do I cancel my attendance at this event?
If you have registered for the Kellogg Preview Weekend and can no longer attend this event, please send an email to mbaevents@kellogg.northwestern.edu so that we may offer your spot to another candidate. Also, if you have scheduled an interview and cancel your attendance at this event, you need to contact the admissions office at 847-491-3308 or via email at MBAAdmissions@kellogg.northwestern.edu to cancel your interview.
