Registration
Q & A
by the Part-Time MBA Program Registrar,
Sarah Francis
Q: May I
take any class?
A: Not unless you have the proper prerequisite course.
Contact me for more information, or refer to the course
bulletin.
Q: What courses
would you suggest I take first?
A: Refer to your Program Planning Guide that you received
with your registration materials
Q: Should
I register for a course with limited enrollment?
A: Registration preference is given to students who
will complete their degree requirements within the
next three quarters. This may hold up your registration
for other courses. Your best bet is to register for
your second choice, then check with me to see if there
is space in the class with limited enrollment. If
there is, then add that course and drop your second
choice.
Q: How many
courses may I take each quarter?
A: You may register for one or two classes provided
you have completed the prerequisites.
Q: May I
register for a class for which I have obtained a course
waiver?
A: Yes, provided you have not taken an advanced course
in the same field and you've obtained approval in
writing from Dean Lyons.
Q: How may
I obtain a waiver for a class?
A: Write Dean Lyons a letter requesting a waiver and
include course descriptions and syllabi from the school
where the courses were taken.
Q: How do
I obtain transfer credit?
A: You are eligible to receive credit for up to 4
courses taken at an AACSB accredited graduate school
by submitting your request, along with course descriptions,
syllabi and official transcripts, to Dean Lyons. A
letter grade of B or better must have been obtained.
Your eligibility to transfer courses into the Part-Time
MBA Program only applies to newly admitted students
as they enter the program.
Q: When are
the web registration pages active?
A: Only during the web registration week each quarter
-- on or after the day you are supposed to register.
If you try to access the web registration pages at
any other time, you will not have access.
Q: During
web registration, I added myself to a waitlist for a
closed class, now I'm not able to access the waitlist
information, why?
A: The Monday after web registration and add/drop,
the Part-Time MBA Program office purges the waitlists
and begins to process them manually in the office.
If you are added to the class, the office staff will
call you.
Q: How late
may I register for a course?
A: Up until the first day of class, if there is still
an opening.
Q: How late
may I drop a course?
A: You may drop a course at any time; however, once
classes begin you will no longer be refunded full
tuition. Contact me for the charges you may incur.
Q: How do
I register for a closed course?
A: Simply contact me to have your name placed on the
wait list.
Q: When will
I receive my registration receipt?
A: One week after you register, in your mailbox.
Q: What do
I do if there is a problem with my registration?
A: Contact me immediately at (312) 503-8385. If it
is related to an expired password, contact Allyson
Grey at (312) 503-6635.
Q: How do
I receive registration materials for the next quarter?
A: Registration information will be sent to you via
E News- the electronic newsletter for part-time students.
In addition, these materials may be picked up in the
Part-Time MBA Program office, 2nd Floor Mezzanine
Level.
Q: What should
I do for a makeup examination?
A: You will need to pick up the exam in the Part-Time
MBA Program office and then take the test in an assigned
room. Check first with your professor to ensure that
the exam is available. ALL makeup exams must be taken
Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Q: When will
I receive my grades?
A: Final grades will be available via Caesar one week
after the final Saturday exam of each quarter.
Q:
What happens if I signed up for the wrong class?
A: Contact me at (312) 503-8385.
