1. Kellogg PTMBA Holiday Gift Drive
The Women’s Business Association is proud to sponsor the 2009 Kellogg PTMBA Holiday Toy Drive, which runs now through Friday, December 11th.
All donations will make a difference in the lives of the children who are patients at Children’s Memorial Hospital.
This year, you can give in three ways:
1. Buy some toys! Children's Memorial Hospital will accept any new, unwrapped toys. Please drop off your unwrapped toys in the PTMBA office (until Dec 11th). Need ideas? Check out the hospital’s wish list here.
2. Buy a gift card! Children's Memorial Hospital will accept gift cards from any moderately priced, easily accessible toy, clothing or food store, such as Target, Kohl's or Dominick's. Please drop off your unwrapped gift card in the PTMBA office (until Dec 11th).
3. Give money! Donate online (until Dec 5th) and the WBA will take care of the shopping for you. CLICK HERE TO DONATE ONLINE!
Our goal is to donate gifts for 400 children this year. We can do it, but we need your help! Please make a donation today. Thank you for your generosity, and for making the holidays a little brighter for the kids at Children’s!

2. GIM Southeast Asia 2010 Information Table
An information table for the Winter 2010 GIM Southeast Asia class will be available this week, Mon-Thurs. (Nov 2 – Nov 5) outside the mailroom on the first floor from 5:00pm – 6:00pm. Itinerary and course syllabus will be available.

3. Kellogg Entrepreneur's Organization Seeking New Membership!
KEO is a group of Kellogg part-time students who are currently active in entrepreneurial ventures. We meet monthly to discuss challenges, opportunities, best practices and how to expand our networks. We are a closed organization currently looking to expand our membership base.
If you are an active entrepreneur or playing a key role in an entrepreneurial venture and are interested in joining, please email Venketesh Rajendran for more information and an application. Applications will be due by November 15th, and the first meeting to include newly selected members will be December 5th.

4. KelloggGroups: Check your event times - certain events may appear 1-hour late due to daylight savings time
If you downloaded an event to your Outlook calendar (i.e., not by RSVPing) prior to October 16, this event may appear 1-hour late. The issue has since been fixed, but you should double check any events you added manually. Events that you RSVP'd to are automatically updated and have correct times.

6. Professional Development Special Series with the PTMBA Career Coaches Jill Clouse and Bob Langewisch
Friday, November 6th Leveraging Electronic Resources for the Job Search
Come learn ways to quickly locate information to give you the knowledge you need to succeed in the job hunt. You'll learn about key resources to uncover in-depth company information: news, company financial, products, and services. You'll also learn how to access industry information such as, financial structure, nature of competition, marketing channels, top companies, etc. Fantastic resources are at your finger tips through Kellogg and Northwestern business resources. Learn about what is available and how to use the tools effectively.
The session will be held at Wieboldt Hall from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
This workshop is open to all students in the PTMBA program.

7. Suburban Social! November 6th
Please join fellow students for drinks at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg! This event is for any Kellogg student who lives or works in the suburbs, or any city dwellers who would like to venture on out! Significant others and guests are welcome. Attendees will be responsible for purchasing their own beverages.

8. Join Team Kellogg at the Northwestern University 5K Race to Benefit Special Olympics!
As part of the One Kellogg initiative, we are planning with the FT program to form a Team Kellogg at the Northwestern University 5K to benefit Special Olympics!
Date: Saturday, November 7th
Time: 9:30am
Cost: $10 for students and $15 for adults.

NOTE: Registering through Kellogg Groups will NOT register you for the race. Please register at the race website. You will need to do that separately.
After the race, we'll get together for breakfast to socialize and warm up (details to be announced). We'll send more information to those that register.

9. 2009 Kellogg Business of Healthcare Conference: November 11th
The 10th annual Kellogg Business of Healthcare Conference, “Driving Growth in a Cost Conscious Economy,” will focus on ways that individuals in healthcare can deliver value for a variety of stakeholders despite the difficult environment. Featuring prominent keynote speakers and panelists, the conference will address topics including financing healthcare growth, leveraging interactive marketing tools, employing IT for operational effectiveness for providers, and assessing the viability and impact of the proposed healthcare plans. The keynote speakers this year include senior executives from Booz & Company, UnitedHealth Group and GE Healthcare.

10. Environmental Leadership and Real Estate Clubs Present: "Rewards & Responsibilities of “Greening” Existing Buildings" with Lisa Loweth

12. Kellogg Kohorts: Joe Bozich, CEO of Knight Apparel
Mr. Bozich has over 20 years of extensive manufacturing, sourcing, marketing and operations experience. Mr. Bozich founded Knights Apparel in 2001, and today along with Nike is one of the two largest suppliers of college licensed apparel in the United States. Knights Apparel also holds exclusive rights with the NBA and NHL.

14. WBA Presents: Women in Sports Panel- November 18th
Imagine pursuing your interest and passion in sports in a business setting! Join Women's Business Association as we discuss the Business of Sports with our panel:
- Alexandra Yeung, Kellogg Student and Olympian - Alexandra Yeung participated in the 2000 Olympic Games in mountain bike riding for Hong Kong, her birth country. She grew up in Toronto, but now lives in Chicago and works as an environmental engineer. Yeung was a consultant for Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- Margaret Stender, CEO of the Chicago Sky - Stender, the woman behind the WNBA Chicago Sky expansion team and a former basketball player and coach, has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and business management, including as the President of the Juice Drink division for PepsiCo, President for Quaker Oats ready-to-eat cereal division, Senior Vice President and General Manager of consumer travel solutions for Rand McNally & Co, and Vice President of marketing for Ameritech New Media. Stender holds an MBA from the University of Virginia.
- Megan Mawicke, sports anchor for CBS 2 Chicago - Mawicke serves as weekend sports anchor for CBS 2 Chicago. She is a sports reporter for the station during the week. Mawicke is a four-time Big Ten Women's Tennis Team champion and a two-time Illinois State Tennis champion. She competed on the WTA professional tour and in four NCAA tournaments. She received MS in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University in 1997.

15. 2009 Kellogg Real Estate Conference- November 18th
The Kellogg Real Estate Conference is Chicago’s premier annual conference for industry professionals. Every year, hundreds of professionals from Chicago and across the country gather at the nation’s top business school to discuss the current issues and future trends that face our industry. This year’s conference will feature panel discussions with some of the nation’s leading real estate professionals on Capital Markets, Distressed Investing, and Trends in Workouts/Restructurings. The keynote speaker will be Sam Zell, who will offer his vision for the future of our industry.
The 2009 Kellogg Real Estate Conference will take place on November 18th, 2009, at the Allen Center on Northwestern University’s campus in Evanston, IL. The conference will run from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm, with a networking reception to follow.

16. "An Evening with the Andersons": co-founders of the Empowerment Experiment
The Part-Time Black Management Association, in conjunction with the Kellogg Black Alumni Club, would like to invite you to "An Evening with the Andersons" - a networking reception and a presentation from John (KSM 1999) and his wife, Maggie (JD-MBA, University of Chicago), the co-founders of the Empowerment Experiment. The conversation will include insights into their experiences purchasing from only African-American owned businesses for one entire year and will be open to Q&A from the audience. We have opened this event to our alumni and our counter-parts at Chicago Booth.

17. Women's Business Association: Benefit Salon Toy Drive Fundraiser – November 20, 2009
