What part-time MBA options are available at Kellogg?
The Kellogg School has two options for Part-Time MBA studies for those who wish to maintain their career while they earn their MBA. The evening option is suited
for those who live and work in the Chicago area. Due to the team environment of the Kellogg curriculum, the evening program has a Chicago residency and job
requirement.
For those who are regionally and nationally based or who have significant work travel schedules, the cohort
Saturday MBA program is the best option.
Both programs have similar student profiles.

How long does it take to complete an MBA though the Kellogg
Part-Time MBA Program?
From 2.5 (or 10 quarters of study) to five years.
In the Evening Program, students complete the MBA at their own pace. The quickest pace is 2.5 years and
evening students have up to five to complete their MBA. The average for evening students is 3 years.
The Saturday MBA, a cohort program in which students go
through the curriculum together, can be completed in 2.5 years, with an option of two additional quarters
for a total length of three years. It is comprised of a predetermined sequence of core courses and a
defined set of electives.

May I register for a course as a student at large or take
a course prior to enrollment in the Part-Time MBA Program?
No, the Kellogg School does not have a student-at-large program.

Can I have more than one major at Kellogg?
Yes. The program is flexible enough for you to focus on more than one concentration. In fact, more than
95 percent of part-time students complete the degree with two or more majors.

What is the difference between the Part-Time MBA Program
and the Full-Time MBA Program?
There are no significant differences between the two programs other than the fact that students in the part-time program work full-time and are required
to be employed in a career-enhancing position during their enrollment in the program. Both programs share the same faculty and curriculum.

Where and when are Part-Time MBA Program courses taught?
Evening MBA courses offered in the part-time program meet one evening per week, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Most courses will be held on the Chicago campus at 340 East Superior Street.
Some evening courses are offered on the Evanston campus. These courses meet one evening per week from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
The Saturday MBA courses are offered each Saturday and are comprised of two classes. The first is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and the second course
is from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday MBA courses are conducted on the Chicago campus only.

If I attend the Kellogg Part-Time MBA Program, can I use the Kellogg Career Management Center for
placement assistance?
There are many career development options available to all students in the part-time program.
For those students interested in the formal career recruiting process, the Kellogg School does provide access for some part-time students to enroll in the
formal career management process during their final year at Kellogg. These qualified students are eligible for the same career development assistance as the
Kellogg full-time students, including individual career counseling, access to the Career Management Center and participation in on-campus recruiting.
To qualify to use Career Management Center services, a student must be graduating during the current academic
year, remain working full-time, and not have received any tuition reimbursement from his or her employer. Exceptions are made for those students who have written
authorization from their employers.
Because the part-time program is designed for fully employed students who intend to pursue the MBA degree
while they continue their careers in the Chicago area, the program has a policy related to formal job placement services for current part-time students. The policy
was developed because many part-time students receive some tuition benefits and other forms of financial assistance from their employers, and it would raise
ethical problems for Kellogg to provide direct career management services to students in these circumstances. For a summary of career and professional development

What is the cost of the Part-Time MBA Program at Kellogg and is financial aid available?
Students in the Part-Time MBA Program pay for classes on a per-class basis as the classes are taken. Students pay for courses before the start of each quarter.
Students take a total of 20.5 classes to earn an MBA but students pay for 20 units (excluding the ½ unit Values, Ethics & Strategic Crisis Management
that all students take).
The
2007-2008 cost per one unit class is $4,398, and students
can take up to eight units of courses in an academic
year. The cost per one unit increases each academic
year in the fall quarter by approximately 6.5 to 8%.

Applying to the Part-Time MBA Program
What materials are required to submit an application to
the Kellogg School of Management?
- The completed application form and essays;
- Official transcripts of academic records from all colleges, universities, or professional schools you have attended;
- Two completed letters of recommendation;
- The $185 application fee;
- Results of the GMAT (taken with five-year time frame)
- A personal interview
Submit these materials to the Part-Time MBA Program Office (340 East Superior Street, 2nd Floor, Mezzanine,
Chicago, Illinois, 60611) in one complete packet.

Are there any prerequisite courses for admission?
There are no required courses for application to the school; however, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Applicants
also must complete the application and its accompanying elements.

When do you accept applications to the Part-Time MBA Program?
The Evening MBA Program accepts applications and starts a new class each quarter: fall, winter, spring and summer. The Saturday MBA Program has one application
deadline and starts a new class each summer. The application dates for both programs are located within our Academic
Calendar.

Are there Chicago residency requirements?
For the Evening MBA Program, we consider candidates who are living and working in the Chicago area (this can include areas of Wisconsin and Indiana). Applicants
living outside of the Chicago area or who travel extensively during the week should apply to our Saturday MBA Program.

What are the minimum GMAT score and Undergraduate GPA for acceptance into the
program?
There is no minimum requirement or cut-offs for either GMAT or GPA. However, of the applicants accepted into the programs, the average GMAT score
is 695 and the average undergraduate GPA is 3.4.

Does the Admissions Committee favor certain undergraduate majors or recommend certain
undergraduate courses?
No. Since there is no one path to Kellogg, we select candidates from many undergraduate disciplines and favor no particular major in the admission process.

Is a personal interview required?
Yes. A personal interview with a representative of the part-time program is required. The interview provides important insight into an applicant’s accomplishments
in full- and part-time work settings and extracurricular activities, as well as indications of an applicant’s career potential, focus and plans to complete the

How does the Admissions Committee view work experience in the application process?
As the nature of the educational experience at the Kellogg School requires students to interact with each other in various group projects and classroom
discussions, the Committee feels readiness is the key factor. Therefore, it is important that students come to the program with a solid foundation of work
experience to achieve an education, which is mutually beneficial to all part-time students. The average part-time student possesses approximately six to seven
years of work experience upon entering the program.

Based on my work experience, academic performance and test
scores, am I a competitive candidate for your program? Can you describe what you're looking for in a candidate?
Because our process is holistic and takes
into consideration many factors beyond data points,
we cannot surmise one’s chances for acceptance
based on test scores and work experience alone. Applications
receive a thoughtful and thorough review by a committee
of staff. Although we do evaluate test scores, scholastic
ability and work experience, we are also interested
in learning more about one’s values and motivations.
We also assess other characteristics such as maturity,
leadership, personal character and potential contribution
to the Kellogg community. The Admissions Office can
assist with questions regarding the part-time program
and the application process, but we are unable to
offer prescriptive advice or recommendations regarding
one’s candidacy. For more information on the

What does “rolling admissions” mean in the Part-Time Program application process?
The part-time program has a rolling admission process,
which means we will accept applications up to one
year in advance of the candidate's desired start (for
example, you may apply during fall 2007 for any quarter
up to fall 2008). This allows our candidates the opportunity
to complete their application and know of the Admissions
Committee’s decision in advance should they
need to make preparations such as relocating or reducing
travel at work. We will read all completed applications
as they arrive in our office, make admissions decisions,
and inform candidates of the committee's decision
approximately six weeks after we receive the application.
At the part-time program rolling admission does not mean that candidates’ chances of admittance
are affected by when they submit their application. We encourage candidates to submit their applications when they are complete. Chances of acceptance do not
decrease as the deadline approaches, and a candidate has the same opportunity for admittance if the application is submitted on the deadline or months in advance
of the deadline.

I’m earning an MBA with another MBA program. Can I transfer into the Part-Time Program?
We do not have a special transfer student application
process. Applicants taking MBA courses at another
program follow the regular application process. If
the Kellogg School extends an offer of admission and
the MBA courses were taken fairly recently, candidates
may be eligible to receive transfer credit for up
