NU Press launches Kellogg book series

Kellogg on China addresses China’s growth and transformation into a major economic power

As the People’s Republic of China continues to implement the various economic commitments it made as part of its admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the environment for multinational corporations in China is changing rapidly. In Kellogg on China: Strategies for Success, editors Anuradha Dayal-Gulati and Angela Y. Lee, both Kellogg School professors, have gathered together articles ranging from “China’s Global Integration and the Impact of WTO Accession” to “Delivering on the Dream: 2008 Olympics in Beijing.”

Professor Dayal-Gulati writes in the preface, “China’s transformation into a major economic power has far-reaching implications for the world and for global corporations. With its admission to the WTO, China is joining Japan, the United States, and the European Union in shaping the pattern of world trade and economic policy.” Understanding the complexities and implications of this change in China is essential to companies doing business there, she writes.

“Kellogg on China is a wonderful collaboration between faculty and students,” said Kellogg School of Management Dean Dipak C. Jain. “We are excited to launch this series of books that taps into the expertise of our faculty, numerous sources of research and the action learning of our students.”

Kellogg on China is the first in a series of books from the Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern University Press dealing with topics of interest to business executives. This book draws on extensive field research by graduate students at the Kellogg School of Management who visited China as part of the Kellogg School’s Global Initiatives in Management program. Kellogg on China is available in commercial bookstores.

Kellogg on Biotechnology, the next in the series, will debut in February 2005.
