The Department of Management and Strategy contains a diverse group of very active researchers, scholars, teachers, and consultants. We are proud to contribute to the training of managers at the best business school in the world.

The courses in Management and Strategy improve students’ understanding of how the decisions of managers shape the economic performance of their firms. These courses combine rigorous thinking with careful attention to institutional detail. These courses illuminate all aspects of firm behavior, market structure and organizational design.

Our research faculty conduct research at the frontier of economics and strategy. Our faculty sit on editorial boards of leading journals around the country. The department is home to the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and the department’s faculty gave birth to the text The Economics of Strategy, one of the most widely used advanced strategy texts at business schools in the world.

The department is proud to contribute to the Kellogg School’s mission of becoming and staying the best business school in the country. Department faculty are widely sought out for their expertise in business and government affairs. Kellogg School students consistently express enthusiasm for the department’s faculty and courses.
