Applied
Microeconomics
One or more tenured or tenure-track appointments may be available
for September 2009 in the Department of Management and Strategy,
Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. The
Management and Strategy Department consists of applied microeconomists
who actively conduct research to enhance our understanding
of the performance of firms, markets, organizations, and economies.
We seek individuals who address real-world phenonomena with
rigorous microeconomic theory and/or empirical methods and
who have research interests in industrial organization, public
finance, labor, international/development or related fields.
The department’s
primary teaching responsibilities are MBA courses that apply
microeconomic principles to business strategy, market competition,
firm organization and structure, human resource management,
business and the public sector, and international business.
Criteria for selection among candidates include: outstanding
research, excellent recommendations and teaching capability.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand or expected by September
2009. More experienced scholars, particularly those with experience
and/or interest in teaching the Economics of Strategy, are
also encouraged to apply. For full consideration, application
