The Congress will take place in the Kellogg School's Jacob center on the Evanston Campus of Northwestern University. The address is 2001 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL 60208. Here is a map of campus.
Travel:
Northwestern University is located on the shore of Lake Michigan in the city of Evanston, IL, and can be conveniently reached from both Chicago's O'Hare and Midway airports. O'Hare is the closer of the two airports. Here are driving directions to the campus. Parking around the Northwestern campus is very restricted. A parking permit, required for parking on campus lots, can be purchased during registration for $32.50.
If you will be flying into Chicago and do not plan on renting a car, you should use a taxi to get to Evanston. There are three taxi companies that serve Evanston from the airport. They are: Norshore Cab, American Taxi, and 303 Taxi. Upon arriving at the airport (and once you have collected your bags) call one of them to arrange for a pick up. The wait is typically 10 minutes. The drive is about 30 minutes from O'Hare and 50 minutes from Midway (barring traffic). They have flat rates from O'Hare and Midway to Evanston (approximately US$31 and $50, respectively).
Although public transport is an option, it is rather lengthy. Here is information on how to use public transport to get from O'Hare to Evanston. Here is information for Midway to Evanston.
Acommodations:
We have made arrangements with a number of hotels to set aside rooms with discounted rates (rates do not include the 13.5% hotel tax) for congress participants. These are listed below along with their proximity to the Jacobs center. Please reserve your room over the phone, as registrants have had difficulty receiving the discount when booking their room online. When calling, please identify yourself with the group name in the right hand column. If you are unable to reserve your room over the phone, please email the hotel and ask if they provide an alternative method. Participants looking to economize should consider our on-campus housing option.
