A Managing Partner at GGV Capital, Jenny joined the firm in 2005, and was instrumental in setting up the GGV presence in China. A self-professed geek and product investor, she finds and partners with disruptive tech companies that can change the traditional business models and create new value for users and enterprises. She fondly an entrepreneurial finance class on entrepreneurial finance that reinforced for her that textbook finance is less important than every day cash flow management for startups in the early days. Jenny’s focus areas are on advanced smart technologies, digital and social media and SAAS companies. Prior to GGV, her previous operating and finance experience at Singapore Technologies Aerospace, Morgan Stanley, and JAFCO Asia enhanced her role as a preferred board mentor and investor to many entrepreneurs in China. Prior to earning her MBA from Kellogg, she obtained her Masters and BSc in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. Since 2011, Jenny has been recognized by the Forbes Global 100 VC Midas List of top venture capitalists, ranking as the #1 woman and #10 overall in 2015. In 2016, she was recognized by The New York Times and CB Insights among the top 100 venture capital investors worldwide, ranking #17 and one of the only two selected from Mainland China.
