Bob Castaneda wrote: "I am currently working on my doctoral dissertation, titled 'Organizational Financial Literacy,' and am a CFO for a nonprofit organization (with 590 employees in the Chicago area) that I will be using as a case study. I am a doctoral candidate in accounting at Argosy University at Chicago and an adjunct professor in accounting at Argosy University and Robert Morris College." (bobcastaneda@att.net)

Lou Ricardo, LARicard@edys.com, wrote: "I'm in Tampa, Fla., with my wife and four kids (ages 10 to 18), working with Edy's (Dreyer's is our corporate name and our brand name west of the Mississippi River) Grand Ice Cream at the southeast division HQ as the director of customer marketing for that division. Edy's/Dreyer's is a great company with great people --- an empowering culture and growing. We just acquired Nestl's American ice-cream business, doubling the size of the company. Very exciting times at Dreyer's with a great future ahead of us. We just introduced a revolutionary new light ice cream. Taste it and you'll see ... you'll never need to buy regular ice cream again!

"During my down time, I'm a wannabe farmer in Dade City (35 miles north of Tampa). I have 2.5 acres of orange trees on my property and grow and sell navel oranges (those we don't eat or drink!). I miss Giordano's stuffed pizza, though, and eat some every time I'm in Chicago! I'm also still a Bear and Cubs fan from afar!"

Mike Legel wrote: "I have left the big corporate world and am presently working with Class on Demand, a start-up video education company in the north Chicago suburbs. Moving from a Fortune 10 organization to a company with three employees is quite a change. I am able to use a lot of the marketing knowledge learned at Kellogg, though, and am getting some terrific experience with a start-up. (mlegel@ameritech.net)."

Tim Grabacki (grabacki@ameritech.net), wrote: "Since leaving Motorola in June 2001 to regain some work/life balance, I have worked hard at getting better in the stay-at-home dad role. Volunteer opportunities keep calling me --- at my sons' school, church and with Scouting. Last summer, I completed a local triathlon with Steve Langer '88. And about18 months ago, I joined Revenew Partners, a market strategy and product management consulting firm. The Web site should be up soon; look us up at revenewpartners.com!"

Stacie (Miller) Wilson wrote: "I have never sent in an update, so here's the full scoop since graduation. After leaving Kellogg, I continued to work for an international reinsurance broker, moved to London for a few years to work at Lloyd's of London, then came back and decided to make the move into consulting. I joined a large consulting firm and remained there for eight years. I got married in 1994 and now have three little boys, ages 3, 5 and 7. We live in Western Springs in a 100-year-old house and never seem to be done with the house 'projects.'

"Two years ago I decided to leave the corporate world and start my own business with a former colleague. We have formed a consulting company called Freemark Consulting that provides technology-focused solutions to a wide range of clients, predominantly in the public sector. The company is a city-, county- and state-certified WBE(women's business enterprise). We're doing great and couldn't be happier with our decision to go into business for ourselves!" Lori Burck, lburck@bigpond.net.au, wrote for her husband Adam Burck, who was en route from London at the time of the Kellogg World deadline: "We have been living in Sydney, Australia, since September, when Adam began his duties as the chief marketing officer for Southcorp Ltd., one of the largest wine companies in the world. Prior to this, he was vice president, international marketing, for Gallo Winery, and worked for United Biscuits in Europe. All told, we have lived in five countries, which means our lamp cords are getting shorter and shorter as we change plugs. Three years ago, Adam and I realized our dreams for a family with our adoption from Moscow, Russia, of Alexander, now 5 years old, and Ivy, now 3. So, instead of going out to catch the latest foreign films, we are viewing 'Finding Nemo' for the 300th time. We like to meet any classmates living in Sydney, as we have yet to find Mexican food or a decent pizza."
