GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt to deliver Convocation address June 21

Following in the footsteps of many distinguished business leaders, Jeff Immelt, CEO of GE, will deliver the 2008 Convocation address to graduates of the Kellogg School's Full- and Part-Time MBA Programs. The ceremony will take place June 21 at the Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston.

Mr. Immelt has held several global leadership positions since joining GE in 1982, including roles in GE's Plastics, Appliance, and Medical businesses. In 1989 he became an officer of GE and joined the GE Capital Board in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed president and CEO. The following year, he was appointed chairman of the board.

Barron's twice named Immelt one of the "World's Best CEOs," and since he began his leadership tenure, GE was named "America's Most Admired Company" in a Fortune magazine poll and one of "The World's Most Respected Companies" in polls by Barron's and Financial Times.
