Julia
Flynn Siler, who writes under the byline Julia Flynn, has been
a journalist for nearly two decades, writing for The Wall
Street Journal, BusinessWeek and the New York Times. After
earning a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate
School of Journalism in 1985, she joined BusinessWeek and
worked as a staff correspondent in the magazine's Los Angeles
bureau. She then moved to Chicago, where she worked as a full-time
contract writer for the New York Times. She rejoined BusinessWeek
in Chicago and earned an MBA from the Kellogg School. In London,
she joined The Wall Street Journal as a staff reporter, writing
about management issues across Europe. She returned to the
States in 2000 and is now a contributing writer for The Wall
Street Journal, focusing on the wine business. She is also
currently under contract with Penguin's Gotham Books imprint
to write a business biography of the Mondavi family and its
contribution to the development of a fine-wine culture in
the United States. Tentatively titled House of Mondavi, the
book is scheduled for publication in 2007. Julia is married
to the journalist Charles Siler. They live in Marin County
with their two sons. |
