EMP-54

Dirk and Ilse Wouters-Daems welcomed their second child, Sebastian, on Oct. 10. Sebastian weighed in at 9 pounds, 7 ounces, and 21 inches.

2004 was a busy year at the Roth household. Ben Roth accepted a new position in January as head of strategic initiatives at Minnesota Life Insurance Co. in Saint Paul. The family moved their home in April and welcomed their first child, Mitchell Benjamin Roth, on Oct. 20.

Rebecca Liebert left Nova Chemicals in November to join Alcoa. She was named business unit president, Alcoa KAMA, and will be based in Hazleton, Pa.

Pete Dankwerth ran his first marathon in Phoenix with his dad. His time was 4:43:50, and upon finishing, he doubled back to run his dad into the finish line. That's our Pete, always doing more than 100 percent!

The Dani Golan family has moved to a zone defense now that the number of kids has surpassed the number of parents. Dani and his wife were thrilled to welcome their son Uri on Dec. 14.

Keith Jossell was accepted into the Leadership Oklahoma Program, class No. 18. Each year 50 Oklahoma leaders, who represent a wide geographic base and diverse backgrounds and vocations, are selected to participate. Individually, they must demonstrate a dedication to Oklahoma's progress and the ability to exercise leadership in recognizing and resolving issues of statewide significance. Each class is exposed to the many social and environmental complexities of the state in order to stimulate inquiry, analysis and independent development of solutions for the public good. Class members meet and talk with Oklahoma's current leaders and explore the state's opportunities, needs and resources. Based on the interaction and respect developed during the class year, a living network is formed — a network capable of identifying, evaluating and implementing projects of value to the people of Oklahoma. Today more than 600 graduates of this statewide leadership development program are carrying out that mission, including Governor and First Lady Brad and Linda Henry. Given that the current Oklahoma governor was in class No. 9, we all should save the date to attend Governor Jossell's inauguration in nine years! Will Governor Jossell be a Democrat or Republican?

SAVE THE DATE: The fourth annual EMP-54 Wisconsin party will coincide with EAA weekend — July 30-31. Hope you can make it (again) this year! Watch for details.
