Jeff Obermayer has been named vice president and controller of Borg-Warner and has moved from Chicago to Auburn Hills, Mich. He says he intends to enjoy the new surroundings right after the year-end close and a couple of other things.

Our favorite salesman, Mike Sorci, was named 2004 Tivoli Software Sales Manager of the Year for North, South and Latin America for IBM.

Anita Y. Tang was scheduled to be a guest speaker at a Chicago celebration of International Women's Month, "Discerning Your Options — Determining Your Future," held March 8 at LaSalle Bank with the support of Mayor Daley's Council of Technology Advisors. Anita's comments on the interest of China companies in acquiring a Midwest presence were carried in the Financial Times on Feb. 11. She is an entrepreneur who is managing director of the Chicago-based Royal Roots Global Inc., a management and investment consultancy specializing in U.S.-China business activities.

Cheryl Gidley, managing partner of Gidley Consulting LLC, has been selected by the Clorox Co. to provide strategic-planning expertise in forming an independent foundation set to launch early in the second quarter. A columnist for Philanthropy News Digest, her first book, Mission-Based Capacity Planning, is due out at the end of 2005.
