Maurice (Mo) O'Gorman, PhD, MSc, D(AMBLI), MBA has been named chief of laboratory medicine, director of clinical laboratories, and director of the clinical immunology and flow cytometry laboratory in the department of pathology and laboratory medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. In addition to these leadership roles, Dr. O'Gorman will serve as a professor of clinical pathology and pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.
O'Gorman is admired and respected as one of the world authorities concerning the design and execution of protocols utilizing flow cytometry and is an internationally recognized expert in clinical immunology diagnostics. He will be responsible for leading new state-of-the-art test development in these and other related areas, encompassing new assays for the diagnosis of children with immune system defects, as well as expanding the clinical and academic activities of the division of laboratory medicine.
EMP-59 teamwork continues! As Julie Kanak made her move to Philadelphia-based Diversified Search, it was a top priority to find permanent office space for its growing Chicago team. Julie immediately tapped fellow EMP-59er Bruce McConnell who works for CBRE.
Julie continues to focus on global and investment banking and natural resources where she has placed numerous leaders in agribusiness and food, and oil and gas. She has recruited top finance professionals for leading national and global banks, asset managers and foundations and provided board, general management and financial executives for a wide range of public and privately-held companies from the Fortune 500 to emerging enterprises. Julie has served several market leading portfolio companies of private equity firms, cooperatives and family businesses.
Tom Malkin moved from strategy to incentive and loyalty solutions for Restaurant.com, a division that has helped more than 1,000 brands leverage Restaurant.com gift cards to drive sales, accomplish marketing objectives, and serve as employee incentives and reward recognition. Tom and his wife Heidi also just celebrated their fifth year wedding anniversary by going back to the location of their wedding, Los Cabos, Mexico.
Steve Winandy and his wife Danielle also just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.
