Adam Bartkowski updates: "After being a CEO of a venture-backed business, Apriso, I started business PolSource LLC. in 2004. We have more than 30 people, and are providing services and solutions using cloud and mobility platforms (such as SalesForce, Apple, Google). We are also partnering with our clients to create new businesses such as ITI, Co-Nurture, Servaya, etc., a more practical and value-add model than pure VC structures."

Barbara Pequignot-Keith writes: "Now that we are all settled in Chapel Hill, N.C., I am enjoying my new job, running branding and marketing communications for Quintiles (the leader in clinical research and commercialization). It is nice to finally be able to use my multicultural background to create international solutions across the globe since we are in 62 countries. The icing on the cake is the wonderful mild weather (beats Chicago and Dallas), the trees and living in the 'foodiest town of the south.' Hope you guys can come and visit us, the house is open."

Gene Quinn updates: "In February, Susan and I returned from a South America adventure to Punta Arenas and Cape Horn in Chile and Buenos Aires, El Calafate, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego and Los Glacieres national parks (trekking around Mount Fitz Roy and Perito Moreno glacier) in Argentina. We're still living in Weston, Conn., after departing the big media business at Viacom and MTV Networks in 1999 and investing privately for 10 years. With co-founding partners in the U.K. and Canada, we founded Tnooz: Talking Travel Tech in 2009. Google anything regarding tech and travel and chances are Tnooz covered the subject. Our Patagonia adventure is the capstone of the 2011 sale of PhoCusWright, a B2B travel distribution research and events business I chaired for 12 years. Another web and word-of-mouth marketing business I advised, BzzAgent in Boston, sold to Tesco in 2011. But other than smelling the coffee for the last two brief weeks, I'm fully engaged as CEO of Tnooz and attended ITB Berlin, the world's largest travel trade show in March."

Dan Silvestri continues his retirement by running his websites for Door County, Wisconsin. The main site is DoorCountyNavigator.com where you will find in-person, professional and accurate reviews of inns, restaurants, activities, shops and more. You'll also find over 85 videos of Door County. Dan adds, "Come on up and visit. I have a place in Egg Harbor!"

"Also, my wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary last September, and our daughter Amy is a freshman at the University of Missouri in the journalism school. Life is good!"

Harold V. Anagnos received the Alumni Merit Award for the School of Continuing Studies at the 79th Northwestern Alumni Association Alumni Awards on March 3.

From Jerry Royer: "Greetings from the Left Coast. Hard to believe I've been in California for 20 years. I work for a broke hospital, in a broke city, in a broke county, in a broke state (California). But I love my job! I am CMO at a county (public) teaching hospital in Stockton, Calif. We have three residency programs (internal medicine, surgery and family medicine) with 56 residents.

"I commuted from Sacramento to St. Louis for five years. My physician colleagues in California typically commute (driving) one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening equals 10 hours per week. I took a flight 3.5 hours Monday morning and another 3.5 hours returning Friday afternoon; but I could read the entire trip. Pick your poison! At my farewell party in St. Louis, however, I remarked, 'Won't it be interesting to learn that the secret to my happy marriage has been my absence.' My wife Deb is a medical group administrator for The Permanente Group of Kaiser-Permanente. She manages 800 physicians – 801 counting me, who she describes as causing her the most grief."

John Powers writes: "I am now fortunate to enjoy two very rewarding careers. I joined Evert Fine Art, a Los Angeles-based art consulting firm as head of marketing and business development. I am also working as a marketing consultant to the Digital Entertainment Group. The DEG is an industry-funded nonprofit corporation representing movie studios, consumer electronics, computer and home entertainment companies. On behalf of its members, the DEG promotes consumer benefits of both physical and digital home entertainment products."

Andy Cutten updates: "It seems that I have spent a good part of the last six months talking with my clients' customers in conjunction with the planning work I was doing with our clients. Certain repetition about what customers truly value was starting to present itself so I captured these attributes and summarized them in a blog piece called '10 Keys to Customer Satisfaction.' Attention to these attributes will replace the oft used saying, 'We want to delight our customers.' You can access the article by going to halifaxglobal.com."

Walter Herbst received the University of Illinois, Distinguished (Design) Alumni Award based on contribution to the profession. Walter also had two-design related papers published including, "Royal Institute of Naval Architects" and "Design Principles and Practices."
