A chilly February weekend warmed by old friendships (awwwwww….) with Olfert de Wit, Karel Schaepman and Marc Major, all ’04

Mayan apocalypse, Year of the Dragon, New Age era of positive spiritual transformation – however you choose to characterize 2012, the year will be halfway over by the time you read this, and I hope it's been a good one! Just a few items this time around:

Our dashing Guillermo Trias has actually tied the knot! And to another Kellogg alum, no less. The back story (which he hasn't included here) is that they met at a Kellogg wedding. But he can fill you in on his own nuptials, in his own words:

"This past fall, family and friends from across the globe joined Mileva Zunjic '06 and Guillermo Trias in Seville, Spain for a three-day gypsy-style wedding. An amazing group of Kellogg grads from four different classes ('06, '04, '03, '93) were the soul of the party and engaged in some serious debauchery: Laura Karam '06 and Daniel Pierce, Carol Kim '06, Renee Martin Cherubin '06, Claudia Belmont '06, Sandi Medeiros '06, Alison Coleman Rezai '06, Reshma Dalia '06, Kristen Sherman '06, Christina Lowe '06, Andrew Mitchell '06 and Pamela Davis, Cristian Fernandez '06, Arturo Figar '06, David Milestone '06, Amine Sebti '06 and Zineb Benis Sebti, Carlo Pollaco '06, Alejandro Medina '06, Ivan Bravo and Molly Bravo, Martin Claure, Ignacio Alvarez, David Nunez '03 and Alvaro de Remedios '93. UNFORGETTABLE!!!"

From Spain, we head over to Amsterdam where another '04 reunion took place. Business took Marc Major to Europe, where he was able to head over to Amsterdam for dinner with Olfert de Wit and Karel Schaepman.

When you receive an email with subject in CAPS from a fellow Kellogg alum, you know it's big news. And so it was – "Tolga got MARRIED!" I opened the email, and indeed, confirmation in the form of a photo and cc: to several other Kellogg '04ers. Just to clarify, Tolga Latif was not the one who sent me that email; it was Kimberly Matthews. Other witnesses include Pete Ruck and Willie Harbert – a MMM reunion! Congratulations, Tolga!

Not in CAPS, a note from Matt Aaronson observing that BCG is partial to the career advancement of Kellogg alums, and in this case, 1Ys in particular – three having made partner in the past year. Cheers to Matt in the Chicago office, Olfert DeWit in the Amsterdam office (we can only assume he picked up the tab for Karel and Marc on their dinner out) and Marcin Kotlarek out of Warsaw.
