Dear Class of 2003! Wow…here we are. Although it feels like yesterday that we were gathered for the BusinessWeek cover photo shoot, we are almost NINE years from our Kellogg graduation. Nine years of career progression, family beginnings and additions, and life experiences. It's not too early for us to mention the upcoming TEN-year reunion (just a small plug!!) but until we can catch up face-to-face, Kellogg World is here to bring you up to speed on your classmates' lives! If you haven't done so by now, please also "friend" us on Facebook! It makes us feel happy and special…but also helps us stay in touch with you throughout the year!

Quick note: As you know, not every picture will be included in the Kellogg World print edition, but they are included in the Kellogg World online edition. We apologize in advance if your photo is not printed, but we hope you'll visit Kellogg World online to see many more photos of our classmates. They've done a really nice job with the digital version — check it out! Thank you for keeping us updated!

Let's begin with all of your phenomenal professional success:

Jason Kasarda resigned from Genentech in January and now works with One Medical, a primary healthcare startup in downtown San Francisco.

Greg Kennealey left his position as vice president of asset management for strategic hotels and resorts to become a portfolio manager for KSL Capital Partners. KSL is a Denver-based private equity firm focused in the hotel, travel and leisure industries. It was hard for Greg and his family to leave Chicago and the friends they made there over the past 10 years, but they are really enjoying the rocky mountain lifestyle. He's also learning to snowboard, although he reports that while it is fun, it can be very painful!

Joe Packee was promoted to managing director, investment banking at Robert W. Baird & Co. Joe continues to focus on middle-market industrial M&A advisory and equity financing transactions. Joe and wife Jen live in Milwaukee and have three wonderful children (Grace, 8, Quinn, 6, Hayes, 2), and they look forward to seeing everyone back in Chicago for our 10-year reunion in 2013!

Karen Lee left billionaire Eli Broad's urban education human capital nonprofit for the greener pastures of independent human capital (read: leadership development program development and recruiting) consulting and leadership career coaching. The best part is working in her pajamas and the lack of commute in traffic-laden Los Angeles.

Early this year, Leandro DalleMule and his family moved back to Darien, Conn., after he took on a new job as the senior director of global analytics for Citibank in New York. In December, Leandro co-authored an article with Tom Davenport for the Harvard Business Review on retail analytics which relied on inputs and interviews from many of our Class of 2003 community.

Kelly (Hetherington) Huntington is still working for the same parent company, AES, where she's worked since Kellogg. But, last year she moved to Indianapolis and is now the CFO of the subsidiary Indianapolis Power & Light, the local electric utility. They missed most of the fun of the Super Bowl, as they were busy welcoming their second child. Gavin and his big brother Collin are both doing well. So far they really like Indianapolis and she's enjoying putting some of her public/nonprofit management courses to use serving on boards of various community organizations.

Jan Rohde noted that in March, it will be a year since he moved back to the Old Continent, joining his father-in-law at his group of companies. It has been a tough move from Chile to Spain with three children in the middle of the school year, but it is getting increasingly better. All three children will soon be at the same school which will help with logistics. Their company is growing quickly (his department alone created around 70-80 new jobs!) and has had its best year in history in 2011. The economic crisis in Spain (unemployment at staggering 23% and the second recession in three years) will make it difficult to repeat this success, as their main customers have slashed their budgets significantly. Therefore, Jan's main goal is to open his company up internationally. Last year, they started activities in Chile and in five new regions within Spain. This year, they will start activities in Brazil, Poland and United Arab Emirates and a few additional regions in Spain.

Through his traveling, Jan has enjoyed dinners with fellow Kellogg classmates Martin Longo, Philip Goyeneche and Alberto Bezanilla (in Chile) and with Elaine Schulze and Ricardo Wolff (in Brazil). If there are any classmates in Poland and United Arab Emirates, please let him know!

Paolo Cuomo has added another area to his portfolio at Beazley, a Lloyd's of London insurance syndicate. Basically, he's the head of the rest of its world operations. Unfortunately, this does not include the U.S., but he plans to still be in New York, Boston and Hartford a couple of times a year so he hopes to see everyone soon.

Ajay Chawan has had a change in professional direction. For the time being, he has hung up his entrepreneurial shoes and reentered the corporate world. In January, Ajay started working with Nissan as the program manager for the U.S. production launch of the Nissan Leaf. On his first day, he was handed a plane ticket to Japan for a two-week trip. While there, he met up with Tomo Hosada. While his new role is keeping him very busy, Ajay is excited to be based near home so he can spend more time with his wife and very energetic son Jaideep (2.5).

Rodrigo Cejas Goyanes is still living in Ann Arbor, Mich., and working for the same utility and energy company, DTE Energy. While visiting family in Argentina in December, he was able to connect with many Kellogg friends also visiting Buenos Aires, including Irene Rizzi, Arnaud Beernaert, José Etchegoyen and José's wife, Barbara Folcini. They met up on a beautiful day in a very cute, trendy part of town and enjoyed lunch and some drinks in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Anne (Ankle) Engelking Smith has news from Washington D.C. She left Frito Lay, where she has worked since 2003, most recently as director of multicultural marketing. Since leaving Dallas in August for her husband's job at the University of Maryland, she has been testing out all the ins and outs and ups and downs of working from home and commuting to Plano once per month. Verdict? Time to establish a new home base and work in an office with other people! So she has accepted a marketing position at AARP, where she will be director, brand and membership experience for the for-profit subsidiary, AARP Services Inc. She will be enhancing the brand stewardship among the many providers who pay royalties to use the AARP brand. It is an opportunity that lands squarely in her professional sweet spot--maximizing revenue while creating social change. Quite a switch from marketing potato chips, but a welcome adventure. Trading in the home office and telecommute for a 20 minute train ride to downtown D.C. and a view of the Capitol and Washington Monument! Husband Ashley, daughter Mackey (3), and son Cashel (1) are proud and excited!

Ryan Ross and wife Brooke have a one-year old boy, Ayrton Konrad Ross. They live in Indianapolis where Ryan works for FTI Consulting, specializing in strategic management consulting and mergers and acquisitions for hospitals and health systems.

Andre Winarto is having a good time in his fifth year living in sunny Perth, Western Australia. He recently won an award called "40 under 40." It's awarded by WA Business News and recognized Andre as one the top 40 business leaders in Western Australia under the age of 40. It was quite a personal honor for Andre to be recognized for both his day-job work with his amazing operations team at Western Power, as well as his volunteer activities outside of work. Check it out at 40under40.com.au/40under40Winners.aspx?Year=2012. Apart from that, his two lads are keeping him busy with soccer as always and he'll be coaching both boys again this year.

Mandy and Leti Taft-Pearman had a lot of phenomenal news to report! They welcomed twin boys, Cooper and Dean, on Oct. 14. They are sure to have their hands full with the new additions and big brother Toby. There are also changes to their professional lives. Leti started a new job in March 2011 as senior marketing manager at the Appalachian Mountain Club and Mandy had a new role as of July 2011 as partner an chief talent officer at the Bridgespan Group.

Transitioning to our growing families:

Ashley Jadyn, girl No. 2 for Brigette Wolf and Corey Klein, arrived on Dec. 15. Big sister Joslyn already has a list of things to teach her and is fabulous with her. They are all doing well and send lots of love to the Kellogg!

Andrew Behring was correct in guaranteeing that he would be welcoming a little brother Jacob in December while parents Jeff Behring and Kate were both far less certain in their predictions. So far, Jacob excels at wearing Green Bay Packers baby gear and sleeping through the night at the two-month mark.

Tomas Lange's first daughter Nina was born in October in Mendoza, Argentina. Tomas, wife Laura and Nina are living in Guadalajara, Mexico, where Tomas works as CFO Mexico, Central America & Caribbean for Gruppo Campari, the leading Italian wine and spirits company.

Tindley Whipple Gilbert and husband Huw welcomed their third child on Oct. 23. Big sister Pryor (4.5) and Emerson (2) were excited to welcome a new partner in crime, Owens Davidson Gilbert. Tindley and Huw have moved from man-to-man to zone defense and the three children have really perfected the art of teamwork, negotiation and strategy to get what they want. Everyone is doing well, enjoying their Arabian adventures in Dubai, and missing friends and family. Please come visit us in Dubai! We'd love to have you!

And last but not least:

After seven years of continuing the annual Kellogg Ski/Board Trip tradition every President's Day weekend, a die-hard group of '03s kept up the momentum this year in Vail. Despite an unusually weak winter snowpack in the Colorado Rockies, Dean Lindo, Amit Nag, Vicki Nakata, Gerry Gilligan, Jen McKnight, Barry Grant, Lu Gallucci, and Doug Dixon soaked up the long runs, occasionally beautiful weather and surprise powder day. Guest appearances by Rob Stephenson and John Oenick were the icing on the snowcake. We're looking forward to keeping the tradition going until we're all broken or dead!
