Wendy Berger Shapiro completed construction of the first LEED(R) Platinum food distribution facility in the United States. The building was built for Testa Produce, the largest privately held fruit and vegetable distributor in the Midwest. The 90,000 SF facility features a 238-foot tall, 750kW wind turbine, 180 solar panels, a 50,000-square-foot green roof, a 5,000 gallon gray water tank and LED lighting throughout. This is the third LEED(R) Certified project Wendy has worked on.

In January, Julia Flynn Siler published Lost Kingdom: Hawaii's Last Queen, the Sugar Kings, and America's First Imperial Adventure, by Atlantic Monthly Press. Historian Douglas Brinkley calls it "a riveting saga" and "a real gem of a book." An award-winning journalist and longtime contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Julia joined the Columbia Journalism School's alumni board.
