Robert (Robb) C. Knuepfer and his family were honored on Dec. 3 as Metropolitan Family Services "Family of the Year" for their many contributions to Metropolitan Family Services and Metropolitan's DuPage Center. The Knuepfer family has actively supported Metropolitan Family Services for many years. Robert became involved with Metropolitan Family Services in the 1990s, and as a member of the DuPage Community Center Board, he served on MFS' development committee, in addition to have served as president of Metropolitan Family Services' Board of Directors from 2004-2005.

Elizabeth "Betsy" Brenner was named the 2012 Sacagawea Award Recipient by the Professional Dimensions organization. The award recipients are chosen for their significant career accomplishments, commitment to community, support for the advancement of women, and embodiment of the trail blazing spirit of Sacagawea. Betsy is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Journal Communications and president and publisher of Journal Sentinel Inc.
