Introduction to SPSS
SPSS is a statistical package commonly used in business and the social sciences. In this session, we will cover the basics of using the student version of SPSS.
SPSS
is bundled with the textbook of the Marketing Research course
(MKTG-450); please install the software in your laptop
prior to the session. KIS cannot provide copies of the software.
The topics covered in the session are the following:
- How to read text (ASCII) data and how to import from Excel
- Computing and recoding data
- Obtaining frequencies and descriptive statistics
- Comparing means and proportions
- Analysis of variance
- Running regression (create dummy variables, regression diagnostics)
- Creating graphs
