Battery has suffered "irreparable" damage

If your battery light flashes orange and you receive a message that your battery has suffered "irreparable" damage, please contact KIS directly.

Intermittent blue screen error

If your computer freezes and displays a blue screen error of any type, we highly recommend you bring your laptop into the Technical Support Center in room 163 as soon as possible as this may be a sign of hard drive failure.

If the Technical Support Center is not open when you receive the error, please make a note of what you were doing when the error occurred and restart your computer.

Wireless Issues

If you are having difficulty connecting to the Northwestern wireless network, first verify that your wireless card is enabled and the wireless switch on the laptop is over to the right.

If the card is enabled but you see either an exclamation point (!) or a red x (X), first verify that your wireless settings match these. Once you have verified your settings, right-click on the wireless icon and select Repair. If the problem is still not resolved, please contact KIS.

Blank LCD upon resume from standby

If your laptop displays a blank screen upon resume from standby, please stop by the Technical Support Center in room 163. There is a hotfix from Microsoft that may resolve this issue.

Local Area Connection does not appear when on battery power

You may notice that when you are on battery power that you do not see an icon for your Local Area Connection when you are not using it. This is a power saving feature new to the T60.
