Kellogg Resources for Videotaping

Shooting Video:  Kellogg has several digital video cameras with tripods, which can be reserved by students, faculty and staff to shoot events within Kellogg.  These cameras are frequently lent out for self-service shooting by student and administrative groups, but requests from faculty for a person to shoot video of a speaker are considered on a case-by-case basis.  Camera reservation requests must be sent to kis-fastcats@kellogg.northwestern.edu, as far ahead as possible, but at least 48 hours in advance of the event.

Digitizing and Editing Video:
Kellogg has a video digitizing workstation in the Extension Computer Lab in Jacobs G20.  This workstation can be used to transfer video from a VHS tape to a computer file appropriate for posting video to the Kellogg web server, where the video does not require editing.  It is available to students, faculty and staff on a first-come first-serve basis.

Kellogg has a digital video editing workstation running Adobe Premier 5.0 software in KIS offices in Jacobs 126.  This workstation can be used to transfer video from a digitial video camera to a computer file and then to edit it.  After editing, the video can be posted to the Kellogg web server or transferred back to VHS tape.  This workstation is available to faculty and staff by reservation only.

Duplicating VHS Video:  Kellogg has the capacity to duplicate a VHS video tape, one copy at a time in full play mode.  We can recommend an external vendor for making multiple copies of a VHS video tape.

More Information:  Please contact kis-fastcats@kellogg.northwestern.edu or Phone # 7-3030 for more information or to reserve use of video equipment.
