Color Printing Policies

The color printers are a valuable service provided to Kellogg students. Please keep in mind that you share these printers with your fellow students and that their print jobs are just as important as yours.

Please follow these policies when printing in color:

  • Do not use the color printer as a copy machine. If you need to make multiple copies, print one copy of the document on the color printer and then take it to the Kellogg Copy Shop (Jacobs Center, Room G20) to have them make color copies.

  • The color printer is primarily for Academic purposes.

  • When printing text and color, please print only the color pages on the color printer. Please print the black and white pages on a regular laser printer.

  • Print large color jobs during slow times. Evenings, mornings, and weekends are the best times to send large jobs. To ensure your color document prints in time for class, please print it in advance.

  • Please be patient. Acrobat, PowerPoint, and other graphics intensive documents can take a while to print. Please do not send multiple copies of the same document.

  • If problems arise with the color printer, call the Technical Support Center, by dialing 7-2100 from any lab phone, or use the KIS Public Computing Problem Report form to let KIS know about the problem.

  • If a large print job is tying up the color printer, please contact KIS and let us know. We will attempt contact the person responsible and, if necessary, delete the job.

If you have any questions please contact the KIS Technical Support Center (847-467-2100) or email us at
